Awards are useful for encouraging competition. I think both FFA and TBD awards could be changed to better accomplish that.
Current FFA awards are:
-kamikaze- I'm not a big fan of this, there is never any competition for this reward because it is too easy to do. I like the idea of something that gives new players a chance to be on the screen but how about something a little more interactive, like "whipping boy" (most non-suicide deaths) or "worst K/D ratio"
-longest life- this one is ok but its hard to see how you stack up compared to your competitors during the game so its always a surprise who gets it
-best multikill- too similar to best killstreak I think.
-best killstreak- I like it, but maybe too similar to most deadly
-most deadly- this is a good one but it is generally unachievable for anyone that hasn't been there since the start of the match, also I think it might be nice to recognize 2nd and 3rd place sometimes
New Idea: not really new, but what about k/d ratio where only those with 5+ kills are counted?
Current TBD awards are:
-kamikaze- not a fan for reasons above, how about least valuable player? That was fun, maybe.
-demolitions expert-I like this one
-best killstreak-not a big fan, I think tbd awards should emphasize team goals not individual ones
-most deadly- not a big fan again, too much emphasis on individual goals.
-most valuable player- this is ok but maybe too similar to demolitions expert. I think team objectives should be rewarded heavily in these calculations.
New Idea: how about some statistics, like the total number of kills/deaths of each team, combined k/d ratios of each time, time in possession of bomb, # of bomb steals, turnovers (if neutral bombs are in use), # of items grabbed.
