not sure many APL teams would want to play two leagues at once 0-o, however currently league is set to run on saturdays - out of conflict, this may change based on who exactly signs up.

Not expecting too many teams but as long as its a few should be a good fund do for the ball teams which I would claim a success.

And to answer your question, yes, I'm biased against you for good reason. Every league/tournament you've tried to start has failed _before_ it even started. CCN has a track record. His previous BALL Tournament was a huge success, with veteran BALL and TBD clans participating. He's tied in with server admins and can get advice (and is willing to listen to it) when he needs to.

You freely admit that you don't think about things ahead of time but jump into them instead. It's not a good process and it affects the community negatively.

I think you should seriously consider whether this clan should be admitted to the league. They are formerly {r87} and still are not willing to accurately report match results: http://altitudegame.com/forums/showpost.php?p=43460&postcount=8 (full conversation at http://altitudegame.com/forums/showthread.php?p=43460#post43460). A league with dishonest members is not going to function well.

Like I just said in the message I can gladly host EU servers. I just need to know the settings that you want to be in place for these servers and I can set them up. I haven't heard any complaints about the arr servers before and they are probably the most popular EU ball servers atm, so there shouldn't be any problem with them for the players.

I think Hagnot meant server picks, but to be honest switching servers in the middle of the match is too much of a hassle, so I don't support that idea.

The number of connections from outside of Europe shouldn't have anything to do with anything, just the raw number of connections in total. If need be, I could probably disable all non-league arr servers for the duration of the matches (hopefully 1-2 hours tops) each Saturday to keep the number of connections down. The league servers could also be passworded to restrict outsiders from the servers.

Tbh EU vs US matches will always be a bit complicated as either side has to suffer from ping >100, usually closer to 150 or more.

I'll put up a 25 player test server for you. The password will be "ccnrocks". I'll do this once the servers are empty so that I don't mess up anyones play with server reboot.

This is a VPS and the server resources and bandwidth are pretty much unused as there is nothing else running on the server, so there shouldn't be problems regarding any resources of the server. It's located in France, so pretty much in the middle of Europe.

the problem is, even if a Euro is secured the best way going forward for the majority is only if both teams request it. I know of a few asians (like myself) who would be utterly screwed on a Euro 350+ ping. Perhaps a compromise rule is home team chooses Euro/US but asian starter on a team can veto Euro. I feel for the Euros, I do, but I feel for Asians as well. I need input here, to accomadate as many epople as possible without ignoring an entire set.

Anyway, when you see Gemi's server up use the password and try and get 25 people in, see how it handles. If it does 25 for 20+ minutes with no hiccups it can handle 1-2 league Euro Servers which would be great.

The server is now online and the name is "{arr} league test - ball, hardw". It has 30 players slots, should be more than enough for stress testing. Also note that all the 4 other arr servers run in the same place, so if other servers have players too they contribute to the stress test. If you log in in the European evening time you'll probably see 1-2 servers full which should help with testing it under even more stress.

Also, there is no password now as no real matches are played yet.

No, two rounds per week, shawtay. This weekend you should be playing KKWM-Round 2 reschedule, {ball}-Round 3, and 2g4u-Round 4 (barring anymore reschedules). The brackets have not changed except IL was replaced with 2g4u.

sorry I was going to clarify this with CCN and have him put it in the rules, because it isn't there. The points refer to how many goals that you score in game. They will only be used for tiebreakers.
I believe the actual scoring will be done the same way as proleague, but I'll wait for CCN to confirm that and explain it.

I think that potentially is the best thing to do. Although I think I am getting a little ahead of myself by suggesting it. At the moment I will concentrate on trying to help out ICE to become a reliable and competitive clan. Tv0 has 2 games left, 2 wins will secure the title, so the tvo arr game will be crucial, if arr wins they will have a tie breaker win and have only to worry about a resurgent 2g4u. If Arr can bust through Tv0 they can break their 1 game lead.
2G4U are in similar straights, needing Tv0 to slip once to have as hot, but they need clear 2-0 wins to take the tie breaker.

isn't that a little unfair on the other two clans? having a best of 5 games match gives arr and tv0 a chance to win more maps than the other two? Especially if there's a chance it could come down to who has had the most map wins.

I see your point, so i'll do it like this.
5-0, 4-1 = 2-0
3-2 = 2-1

In reality though the winner of this match will pick up 2 points 0and they will be the ones to contend with 2G4U for the win so should work out okay.

Our teams are very even indeed and the last game was the most exciting game in Altitude so far for me (ending 6-5, 4-5 for tV0 at one point). I'm looking forward to meeting you next time, and hopefully we can help each other to get better at the game.
