I think the live in-game text display could benefit from having a few options assigned to it. I saw another post somewhere on here mention controlling the text's opacity, which may be useful. Depending on the map and team I'm on (generally, the right-spawning team), the display text can sometimes obscure approaching opponents and objects.

Another suggestion I have concerning the display text is adding some sort of base damage read-out for TBD games. Often, someone will drop the bomb, and for one reason or another, you can't tell if a direct hit occurred. I sometimes forget how much health a team had before impact, so perhaps adding a damage report to the left-hand log would be beneficial (e.g. lamster damaged base 30 HP -- I'm guessing XP probably wouldn't be an appropriate unit of measurement here).

I'm thinking adding some type of filter might be helpful. Perhaps some people will want to play with only the central, personal kill-log showing. Maybe the demolition-oriented players will only want to see base damage.

What does everyone else think?

Forgot to add this earlier -- a "chat only" filter for the left-hand log may be desirable too.

The way I see the UI working the best is allows the user to configure everything on the screen the way they want. This means disabling the chat window or combat long if they want to. This also means that the windows should be able to be locked and unlocked and allowed to be dragged around the screen to where ever the user wants. These would include the combat log, chat window, health/energy/throttle (from the old UI) and the current base health. I think everyone has different likes and dislikes of what portions of the screen they want to keep clutter free and this would allow the users to arrange it however they wanted.

I also like the idea of including base damage in the combat log as it would be helpful.
