I have noticed that more and more alty players are getting interested in seeing a new set of perks being implemented into the game.
I personnaly think that is a good idea because it would add something fresh to the game, just like the 'planeball' mode did in the beggining of this year.
I had some ideas recently and thought about all the online games I've played, and I noticed that there's a lot of them in which you can choose a more stealthy, discrete way of playing, while gathering information useful to your team. Some examples:
The Spy in Team Fortress 2
The Recon in Battlefield Bad Company 2
And some people on Call of Duty Modern Warfare who are actually playing Sniper as a real Sniper and not as a close range shotgun
Now I don't really know if that sort of thing could be added to Altitude. However here are my ideas in how that would look like...
First of all I'd call it the AWACS perk.
AWACS stands for Airborne Warning and Control System. It is a type of plane used by the military to detect aircraft. This is what it looks like IRL:http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/aircraft/images/awacs-00000007.jpg
The perk would be a red perk. It would:
Display a minimap showing the current position of all friendly and ennemy planes, bombs, ball and powerups.
be able and "spot" a plane by placing a beacon on it that would give away its position and make it easier for allied planes to shoot it down (and that beacon would go away by healing on the base)
go invisible for a short time (and using all the plane's available energy so you won't be able to shoot while being invisible)
coordinate the team by giving orders (using the keyboard)
However the plane needs weapons in order to be useful in all game modes:
I would suggest an insta killing weapon that uses all of your energy and takes a while to reload. The plane could get buffed a little for FFA as there is no place where you can go and recover as in TBD and BALL.
So this is it. The Spy plane. I know it always sounds a little weird when someone is suggesting a new perk/plane, but could you give me your opinions on it?
