What would you all would think of having a ffa tournament? I was thinking like we would play 3 or more ffa games and average the results together to determine the standings. Just a one day deal with the first however many people we can fit play. No complicated signups or any extra details. Just something simple and in my opinion fun, let me know your thoughts.

Well it would help change up the usual tbd and ball tournies before APL starts. Im all for it. Just try to figure out a way to average kills, deaths, and assists. Like a kill would get you X amount of points, then assists, and deaths u lose X amount of points. Might be complicated, im not sure. Something like that. :)

Hmm well kill stealing is part of the game I am not sure if I should count assists/deaths or not, what do you all think about that?

well what you guys could do is:

Have something like elimination, in FFA there is always on person who is on the bottom of the players list, each match would then eliminate that person, this would go until there is one person left, who would be the winner of the tournament.

Yea I guess your right. Wasn't really thinking. Just count kills. :)

EDIT: Thats actually a good idea Element. Because with just counting kills you would not even come close to knowing who will win. If you were down say 100 kills, you are most likely not going to have a chance to win.

For your idea of the tourny element I say that the finals would consist of 1 game with 3 players and then whoever gets first, second, and third, those would be the final standings of the tourny. Sounds good to me.

but if you eliminate people the game and skills required becomes very very different up until it's a 1v1 at the end, so you're not having a FFA tournament, you're having a 1v1 which you have to survive to get to, and a 1v1 is very different to a FFA

First of all, I like the iron man format. However, eliminating one player from each game at a time seems a bit slow for a one day ordeal.

It all depends on how many people we get so lets say we get about 48 sign ups. That is 12 people per APL server. Lets say we drop the bottom three in kills in each server. That would be 12 people eliminated the first round and then we would have 36 left.

Then we shift down to 3 servers with 12 people in each. Drop the bottom four in each this time. Then we have 24 people so that makes 2 servers with 12 people in each.

Then we drop the bottom six in each :O so now we are down to the top 12 FFA players that can fight it out in one server for the final or something.

I am thinking of not even doing sign ups and just posting a time instead and everyone who shows up is in. Also who says just one player at a time would get eliminated what about 2 or 3 at a time to make it speedier. I really am not thinking of making this a grand ordeal just like a one day thing with may be 20ish players or so in a fairly large server. Just something casual-ish, but also competitive and fun.
