I skimmed the forums and I did not see this topic immediately (apologies if this has been discussed before), but I was thinking it would be a great to know how many people are trying to join some of the popular public servers.
Some public servers do receive quite a bit more traffic than others (Dojo 1/2, ARR servers, for example) and there have been many times that myself or a friend on mumble has waited upwards of 30-40 minutes to join one of these servers without knowing how many people are trying to join. The thought occurred to me that knowing how many people were waiting might sway people to populate other servers to get games going when there could be 10-12 people trying to join one of these, or at least give us an approximate wait time.
I don't mean to divert any traffic from these servers as they are both solidly run, and I also know that there is some degree of randomness (it isn't a straight line to join, from what I've told- of course I could be incorrect) to joining, but I thought it would be a nice, welcome convenience to get an idea as to how long you would need to wait.
Of course, I could very well be wrong and nobody agrees with this.
