hi every1

i'm hosting my own server and i have some other admins wich help me a bit. but i have a prob. sometimes suddenly admins do things i dont want. kick/ban people without reason. suddenly changemap. etc etc. those times i wanna kick them but i cant cuz there admins. also you can assignteam, you might have seen that. you can change a player wich dies and than joins in a team you've chosen. its verry anoying if an admin let you join the same team over and over. that should also be not plausibble. also some admins like to make server messages over and over, if you can put that off to it would be verry usefull, but sometimes I must make a server message cuz there is something inportant. I tought perhaps you can make a super administrator. with extra rights, and that an administrator have less rights. and than you can adjust it like you can do now between "anyone" and "admin". than i can kick admins wich have to be kicked for a short time to show them that i'm the boss. i can't be assigned, and i'm the only one who can make servermessages. what do you guys think about it?

Don't have stupid admins and you're set. Generally no one except people you trust should have access to adminship of your server. However I'd like to see something like IRC has with different levels of operator (admin) power.

Yeah man the easy solution is to find better admins...lol. But extra features are always nice to have.

I have to echo things here - I run my own server and I wouldn't give admin power to anyone I didn't trust and anyone who abused that power would no longer be an admin.

That's how it works on most other games (they don't generally have "superusers" but admins are allowed to kick each other, etc.), and if other games do have it then it's usually a plugin rather than in the core code, to save confusing simple setups. But, more importantly, I think being on a server where there's any admin-battling, I would quietly leave.

Most people just want to play. Kick/ban is for ensuring that your server only has people who just want to play. If you want to play power games and yet have admins who kick/ban people for reasons you don't approve of, assert your authority and strip them of their admin rights, don't get into a kick war between yourselves while everyone else is just trying to play. A single bad admin can destroy a server's community.

And the sure-fire thing to make me not come back to your server is a kick/ban for anything at all. I join to play, so I don't create fuss or do things deliberately and a kick/ban of myself just points at an overzealous admin. I would notice kick/bans of other people and if it wasn't a justified votekick, or a kick from a sensible admin for something quite blatant, then I'd find another server to play on.

P.S. It's amazing how many people join a server called "Ledow's Server" and then proceed to do abusive things even after I join and ask them to stop. I have zero sympathy - they get perma-banned, but 99.9% of the time a server manages itself without needing 24/7 admins, especially if you have votekick on, or read through the logs occasionally.

It would be good if the server hoster would be able to change what things an special admin shall be able to do!

ya, in that way you can make admins more powerfull and less powerfull, if they do good they will be more powerfull, if they don't do good you can punish them by giving them less rights.
