I haven't seen us play but there are a few things to keep in mind when playing ball:
1. Make sure your whales don't get too aggressive. I've been in many games where we gave up a lot of goals because our whale was always on the offensive. The whale should be considered as the last line of defense and is a safety net if the other team starts to push.
2. When you don't have the ball, get yourself open for a pass (except whales). A good push can be foiled when there isn't a next person to pass to. Still kill, but look for ways and alternate routes to make yourself open. I know I love it when another teammate does this.
3. Be creative. Look for abnormal ways to move the ball. It builds skill and confidence.

Malkin makes a fair point regarding whales, the games I sat out and watched two things struck me:

1. people die too fast at the start, rush out die and the opponents score before our team respawn, we need to show patience in possession and get better at surviving when killing an opposition member.
2. whales getting ahead of the play, if a push dies the whales are there to hold up the opponents and maybe even kill their whole attack, they are not there to pick the ball up and go for it (unless they do score in which case it was all good. life not fair shocker!) again on sunday i saw a push stall on our side and then are whales are caught out of position (good luck chasing that randa/loopy) or killed before their counter attack even begins...

Nope, I've mentioned the exact points several times before (including the ones about our Whales, positioning and dying more). We just need to practice along these lines more :)

We also need dedicated full time whales. We can all say we can play Whale etc., but reality is we're most powerful with our full time whales, Buzz, Bogus etc. and playing Whale is not just about getting kills but positioning.

We also need fixed, semi-rigid roles, if we have 2 whales we absolutely must have one offense/mid-map whale going berzerk and other one hanging back a bit while firing well aimed thermos (Cave, Grotto, Snow).

Also, I see we had a 6-0 darkwar defeat, I didn't play that game, but I hope we didn't play 2 whales on Darkwar.

the best thing to do, to improve our playing is to meet in game/mumble and practice together. so we* should totally set up some practice/scrim sessions. maybe on weekend. also we once agreed on monday evening but that did never happen. *rag ;-)

Good games today guys, tnx for showing up. We lost against tvo 6:1 mostly, but at least we could get everyone to play few and have some fun. Spectators did watched and gave few good pointers about strategy so we can work on that if we menage some friendly scrim or against randoms.

Nipple at least had the decency to tell me that he's leaving and I still respect him for that and he's a fun guy. Buzz is the only one that is still seen around and scrimmed sometimes against randoms but that's about it. He's (like me, nowadays) usually too busy, kinda sad cuz he's such an awesome whale.

Well our main focus is getting together on mumble and playing as a team when possible.

Thinking about this, I don't remember the last time I played as a team. Well I do, but it feels like my childhood days or smth.

Even if we do get 6 online most of the time, people have to leave within 5 or 10 minutes.

I guess in practical terms, we just don't have enough active players to ever properly scrim really. But it would be a shame to call it quits, I do enjoy our scrim time when it does happen, even when we have to listen to the mind shattering sounds of gRim's mic, whilst Veri tells us that we're all ****. :D

If I'm honest, it does feel like the end is seemingly nigh, with all the leavings and inactivity, but I wouldn't want to vote on disbanding cos it would make me sad face. :(

though i dont have a clou about, what it takes to lead a clan, i feel a lack of leadership. i wanna encourage you, rag, to set up more scrims or trainings. at least we could try to get together regulary or at least sometimes.

furthermore i suggest to kick all the inactives. its making me dizzy to see all these names and to wonder why its so hard to get 6+1 people for a match. they are not helping.
additional we should hire. maybe with a probation period. because inactives and clan hoppers suck way more than worse playing (lock at me^^). we wont get the best clan anyway. but maybe we are teh funniest. and thats what it seems to be all about for some of us.
