I did not admit to such a thing. I'm saying the admittance of having thoughts or not etc. is done only after you are awake. And any "experiments" done in the waking state about thoughts in deep sleep contradict every one's personal experience of dreamless state where we didn't perceive anything. It's like doing experiments in a dream and asserting their logic in the waking state.

We all go to sleep and wake up. We remember some dreams but we also recollect blissful sleep where we don't perceive a body, we have no "connection" to the world and "others", where there are no doubts, yet there is happiness. If it were not so, we'd not court sleep but dread it.

ok so to review this evening's entertainment

we had three games against randoms (fc only had three) and we lost all three (6-0; 6-0; 6-4)

if they hadnt had toast it would have made a huge difference lol

the last game we had two bombers, two loops a randa and a whale.

the main thing i brought away is we desperately need to practice as a team more. i have played with most of you guys this week and we all played well but the first two games today were awful. we were like special needs kids ffs

last game went much better but we still had a bad start (two goals down wasnt it?) and were always playing catch up

we fragment too much as a team and do not concentrate our destructive power to punch holes in the opponents. whales need to occupy that space just to our side of halfway so they can join the midfield battle and supplement the attack but still defend against opposition counters. too often out whales our alone either defending space or caught too far forward. i really think this could be key to team victories for us but we have to work on this and get it right.

in midfield we need to move the ball faster to our attack. i beat the **** out of 's' as i died but quicker ball today would have helped tek a lot. talking of tek he was incredibly isolated a lot today and had to spend too much time near our goal helping to defend because we were pinned back.

again, i think getting the whales/defence right will aid all the other issues. please get me here, i am not saying the problem lays with the whales, the rest of us have to work to enable them to play like this. tek always talks (and veri) about our lack of kills and it is bang on. for me that is illustrated in how we lose the midfield and end up pinned around our own goal in a cycle of spawning and dying saving a goal.


the last thing to say is maybe the reason we lose is because we are ****. can we play together or do we just have the wrong mix? let's have a proper chat about this lads cos frankly we need to.

i reckon we have to practice more to win but we need to win in order to re-enthuse the clan to want to practice. this kind of cycles leads to clans dying and if we do not want to suffer that fate then we have to break the cycle. the ball (tee hee) is in your court

just noticed you had to edit that post, surprised it was worth it. we want solutions mate and don't just say kill more since that's not the problem. it is killing as a team that we fail at. i think it was game two, after first goal down we had one team kill to their four. rinse and repeat with our odd runaway goal and that was the scrims. i am serious when i say we need to find the solution to this. if this ends with well we will try to kill more we may as well give up.

i am hoping that the clan will actually engage this time as normally any of this **** just peters out and we start posting pictures of boobs or cake (on a good day, both)

What I noticed yesterday was that most of the time you guys left me alive because someone started shooting at me, then before I died, they shot at another person. As a consequence, more players in our team could pull off 2+ ratios.
Another thing that you have to concentrate on is positioning: half of the time the whales were out of position, leaving a free shot at the goal.

Surely with DJ we were stronger than without him, but if he hadn't been there, we would have had Strong Coffee or Pidimas which wouldn't have really lead to another result imo. The key is to push as a team and guide your ball carrirer, whoever that might be.

Anyways, thanks for the games, sorry for us not having enough players (actually there were enough online but I forgot about APL, which happened to be at the same time). Hopefully you guys can scrim a lot from now on and improve as a team.

I played Randa, and when I top the kills in our team, without even trying to kill-whore, it is NOT something we should be proud of.

The fact is for the first two matches every single one of us had a negative KDR. If you don't see this as a problem, I'm not sure what else to say.

The last game was better but still if the ball-carrying, non-whore Randa is top of our kills, something is definitely wrong here.

I can give more specific inputs since you wanted.

1. Bogus played fine.

2. Frodo needs to stay back and kill more. He plants many mines but underuses his missiles IMO. More missiles Frodo is my only advise.

2. Rag was moving up front too quickly at times. mid-map domination needed. Not too much to complain though

3. Tek (myself) was rushing too much in the first game. Improved as the night went on (twss).

4. Veritas played fine, no real complaints about his EMP.

5. Nummer.. first 1.5 games biplane, definitely not needed, we needed his EMP. I didn't watch his EMP play but it definitely helped way more than biplane, see the results.

in broad terms i agree, deffo on biplanes and i think LF should ban them until we find someone who uses them well enough. i thought nummer did well as emp and i often saw him scurrying the ball away whilst i was waiting to respawn. (incidentally my ratio for game two was the only positive but it is irrelevent)

i do not disagree about killing but my point was more that since we fragment as a team our killing power is also reduced. lakos talked of being left on min health and the reason would be that our fire is not concentrated as a team. i made the point to you yesterday that a portion of your kills are due to finishing off the injusred but that is a good thing and we need more of it.

the fact still is that until the clan commits to regular scrims we cannot improve as a team since we will just stay as (in some cases awesome) individuals.


see i think we are still kinda saying the same stuff tek but we need to look at solutions. your breakdown by player is decent and i hope people read it and think about what it says. for me i was aware of being too far forward but you were alone if you got in their half with the ball as people were locked into protecting the goal (always an issue when you let in early goals)

for me it will come back to how we operate (or more often not) as a team. it is frustrating as all hell since i watch some of our players and they are all good within the confines of operating as a single player. i suppose we are all good pub players but need to get that organisation and discipline of team play (i understand the irony of me making that statement would choke a rhino but even so)

a couple of our goals in the last game came from good team pushes and it is something rare for us to do so and it is exactly that kind of play that we need to do more of.

i swear to god mate much more of this and i will get blisters on my fingers, i cannot remember the last time i typed so much on the forum

Sorry to hear about another crushing defeat :/

Although I wasn't there I shall add my thoughts on general LF performance. (remember kids this is only my opinion so if you don't agree then shut your mouth)

I think we have a couple of fundamental issues (which have been previously stated in one form or another...

1. Inconsistent team roster – Due to our various rl commitments and disappearing members we have been unable to have regular scrims/practices with a regular team setup/setups. This leads to uncoordinated play, and a kind of free for all attitude where everyone is trying to comphensate for our lack of unity by frantically throwing the ball about or shooting wildly. (this issue is linked to all following issues)

2. Midfield fail – This is where I think all of our problems start. Whenever we've played scrims it feels like we all are just annihilated on the midfield leaving 1 (or 2 if we're lucky) to defend the goal and the rest tapping F to get back in. We regularly lose the ball midfield to the entirety of the opposing team, making it near impossible for the defence to stop them.

I think this is where our killing issue lies, we need to kill on the midfield allowing for short runs on the goal, keeping the pressure on. This is down to the whole team sticking together and not allowing themselves to keep dying without killing anything. The only players who can be forgiven for negative ratios are the Randas (and that's only if they're scoring :) )

3. Whaling – We should always play with dedicated Whales. This has been happening more now that we have Frodo and Bogus playing pretty regular but i really think it's important that we don't ever scrim unless we have dedicated whale players. They're too important to have as stand ins. I also agree that we shouldn't be using biplanes, and instead should be looking to have 2 loopies. I don't think we're good enough yet to do without a fair amount of loopy spam and plenty of emp.

4. Bomber – Anyone playing Bomber (I'm looking at you Rag :P) should be completely focussed on annihilation. Non stop unbridled murder. If you get the ball great, but I think bombers should just be murder machines, shattering the hopes and dreams of the enemy and making their wives and children weep at the sight of the brutal destruction of their loved ones.

5. Protect the Whale – I think it's important that the other members of the aim to keep the whale alive, because that means that the whale can get plenty of killing done. It's hard for whales to murder when they're being emped and shot at all the time, and I found whenever I've whaled that I get a lot of punishment from the opposition, meaning I can't do any killing myself.

mm, it's really late now and I think I'm just rambling. I aimed to give a proper analysis but my brain appears to be melting. I think there might be a point somewhere in here..probably something about Whales...:/

Anyway, in short, we should play more, and sort our setup out.

Recommended standard setup: x1 Randa, x2 Loopy, X1 Bomber, x2 Whale

Maybe I'll review this in the morning..feel free to ignore it.

I'm reading and reading and got 2 say you all have fair points at game discussion. I agree with all that and mostly with that part we need to practice moar. I mean more than -no practice- as we did usually :rolleyes: It would be great if we could get few additional dudes who are regular alti players (at least few times a weak) so we can arrange games here and there to just play against randoms or whatever. Skill would improve no question about it (couldn't go much worse). I noticed that when we randomly meet and find ourself in same team on random games we are usually making some difference but when we play scrim against other (well organised) team we fail. So for start more team games and during that we can discuss strategy.
Also, (can't believe I'm saying this tek) we should play more ladder individually to catch a grasp of our adversories and overall team tactic.

I spoke to Jules today about the server thing. He told me, that his server renting finally expired end of september. thats why our beloved mumble server is also no more :(.
