Hi,

I wonder if one of the Altitude team could tell us what tools they used to create the game? I am sure it would be of interest to us programming hobbyists.

Don't give away the secret recipe, though!

Thanks.

Hehe, thanks for the reply.

I hope Altitude goes on to inspire others to follow in your footsteps. You only need a good idea and lots of hard work!

Are you using Ant or Maven? Or strictly the Eclipse build process? I use CVS for my code repositories, but am thinking of moving to SVN. Have you investigated SVN at all?

Thx!

We use Ant + eclipse ant tasks... it's really weird but it works and you only have to manage your classpath in eclipse and not eclipse + ant. I looked at maven oh so many years ago and I never really figured out what it does o_O.

We started w/ CVS and switched to SVN and the eclipse svn plugin was horrible so we went back to CVS... I personally have grown to hate them both, I particularly dislike the folders of meta data it creates cluttering everything. I didnt like clearcase when i used it but it's better than cvs and svn (if you have deep pockets). I recently stumbled across http://bazaar-vcs.org/BzrEclipse and have been meaning to try it out.

Clearcase was.. fairly unpleasant for me when I used it. I've only used svn+subclipse a bit for personal projects but the eclipse integration seems way more convenient than clear case.

I'm curious as to how much of the game is pure java and how much of it is platform specific?
