View Full Version : Dual Monitors Bug?

Not sure if this is a bug, but when I'm playing in a non-maximized window, if I have altitude on my secondary monitor, the game will freeze after about 5 sec of flying once I've connected to a server, then disconnect me. During the freeze my mouse doesn't function either, but I can alt/tab to make altitude disconnect faster. If I drag the window back over to my primary it runs fine, but as soon as I drag it back to the secondary it crashes once I start flying again.
Attached system info. Meant to put this in support but no way to delete thread.

Video of the error, seems it wouldn't unfreeze till it alt/tabbed off altitude.

I have the same problem. But is this case of 2 monitors? Or any problems with net?

Bump again..
Same issue using my laptop (IBM T410) with an external monitor and windows dual display for extended desktop.
Soon as I drag altitude (in windowed mode), to the extended desktop, altitude freezes after a few seconds. Any ideas on this lamster?

Seen this in a few places:
http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6656829
Another app that had similar issues:
http://www.dbvis.com/forum/thread.jspa?threadID=3140&tstart=0&messageID=11202
Looks like adding -Dsun.java2d.d3d=false might fix it though not sure where to add it with altitude.

Makes it hard for me code and test at the same time since my boss can see my main screen :(

Have you tried the test build? http://nimblygames.com/test/altitude.exe
Otherwise, depending on what you're testing, you can edit ~Altitude/config/options.xml and set overrideResolution="200,150" (small enough that it's easy to hide / hard to tell what it is from a distance).
You could also try changing which monitor is identified as primary/secondary on your video setup.

Whats the difference between this test build and the current build?
No issue when using the test build, thanks :)

it uses the latest LWJGL build which causes timing issues on my computer hence why we never pushed it out.
