Default Introducing: Official Ladder Administration Thread

These are the current admins. You may contact any of these admins for issues regarding admining, including reporting leavers and ban appeals:
- Nobodyhome
- Mikesol
- Ryebone
- Tgleaf
- Drunkguava
- Smushface
- Sunshineduck
- Matattack
- Woken
- Princess Squirtle
- Threevenge
- Darknietzsche
- Aki
- Soccer

As well as some inactive admins, who have admin power but don't play much anymore (ever):
- Eth
- Maimer
- Esoteric
- King
- Tyr
- Pieface

If you see any misconduct going on in the ladder servers, please report them in this thread or by contacting any one of the active admins, either in game or PM. Remember, admins are not always on the servers and the more people that help in reporting undesired activity, the more the servers will be rid of misconduct. In your report, please include evidence of misconduct, i.e. screenshots of chat or the console (press ~ for seeing votes, etc). To repeat, a full set of screenshots that sufficiently prove misconduct is REQUIRED.

1) Leaving in the middle of a game and not returning.

2) Playing in a maxPing=300 server when you know your connection is too bad to not get continuously disconnected in the middle of a game, causing repeated disruption.

3) Speccing because you didn’t know you were supposed to be in the game

4) Speccing as a player for any other reason, either repeatedly or without giving warning.

5) Vote initiation of the following form:
-ANY vote by a spectator, when there is no consensus that a vote should be called
-A vote by a player with the intent to disrupt the game (calling vote stop tournament when the game is about to end, etc).

6) Acing in the middle of a game.

7) Playing a ladder game while under level 13 of any ace rank.

8) Spectators not using team-chat after being asked to by a player. All-chat is fine until someone asks them to team-chat. In addition, players who continually try to engage spectators in conversation after spec-chat has been called will be banned as well.

9) Racism/Bigotry. General immaturity. Excessive or unrelenting trash talk targeting specific players.

10) Playing random, full or custom.

11) Playing on multiple accounts (i.e. smurfing). Alternate accounts are subject to permabanning (the main account receives a regular ban).

12) Any activity not listed above that can cause a negative experience for others while playing ladder.

13) Showboating in any manner.

You alone are responsible for all activity on your account. Please do not let others play on your account.

The password for the ladder servers is "ayaispro" for the tbd servers, and "fartispro" for the ball servers. Please do NOT give these passwords out to anyone. If someone asks you for the password, kindly direct them to this thread, so that they may read the rules before entering the server. "I didn't know the rules" is not an acceptable excuse for appealing bans.

Again, if you see any of these behaviors in the ladder server, please help us by reporting it here and including the required screenshots for evidence.

No use in banning BIG330, he exploits a bug to bypass bans.

Cool math, ryebone. This is why you leave these kinds of posts to me, smushface, and nobo.

I believe he's referring to this rule:

Default ParaDox guy

Hi, ladmins. This guy known as ParaDox in ladder has been banned by rye. Reason: leaving at mid-game. I spoke with him about his ban and he said that he had bad connection. He promised to everybody not to leave. I said to him: U should read ladder rules. Probably he don't knows where ladder rules are. Oh by the way. His forum name is I AM IN. If u still remember ParaDox guy, PM me and tell me what was going on because he didn't explain me clearly.

Xorg.

I think it would be better if the person who was banned discussed it directly and not through an intermediary.

So this seems kind of sketchy to me.

If he had a bad connection - fair enough - he dropped and will come back. Whether or not he read the rules doesn't really mean anything.

If he actually left mid-game, which is what it sounds like, then he still does deserve a ban. If he goes and reads the rules now that's great and all - once his ban expires.

Furthermore, it is up to him to appeal his ban. Nobody else can do it for him. If he has an issue have him explain why. Otherwise, this ban will simply be left as is.

oh come on, rule 13 just isn't right =(

Edit: Given what Firstclass said, may be worth having a 1 line server message that just says, this server has rules, they can be found at X. So people know on coming into server. Ladder in full swing rarely stays on the starting screen enough for anyone to read it >_>

Default Ban mulu602!

This kid named "Mulu602" is throwing all the games in bladder. After the other team scores, and the ball spawns, he runs the ball back to his own goal and dies by the other team. I thought you were suposed to try to score in the other teams goal, not YOURS! So yeah ban this kid, "Mulu602" for throwing bladder games. I was on a 7 win streak, then I get this Mulu kid on my team, I lost my win streak. When I get Mulu on my team, I "ALWAYS" seem to lose?
Please ban "Mulu602"

-Frodo

I'm not sure if Mulu was throwing the game or not, since I was whaling the entire time and didn't see much of him. What I did see was 2 decent misses by him (bouncing off the rim) and one goal, so I'm doubtful that he really was tossing the game. It is true that he is a terrible player, but that's not enough to get banned; my guess is that he thinks "confusing" the other team with TA is a viable strategy.

I'd like to point out, though, that once his vote failed Void decided to sit out the rest of the match in protest (clearly against the rules) and call everyone who told him to rejoin a "****ing faggot". The rest of the match was played 5v5 (thanks yking for sittting, btw). Under these circumstances, calling Solqom a bad sportsman seems a little crazy...

Just my perspective.

I don't see how you could NOT have seen his clear intention TAing the ball in their own goal... the entire spec + red (his own) team saw it. And it was pretty unsporting of Blue to not stop the tourney IMHO, but whatever I wasn't a "victim" so I don't really care at this point to post more details.

As for void's frustration and/or abusing that's a separate topic, and doesn't dampen the fact that Mulu602 did this and cost his team early goals.

This wasn't about being bad. Its about TA grabbing the ball, in a map like labryinth, goes to their own goal and keeps TAing hold the ball till the enemy scores. (Bouncing it within own goal)

P.S. Mulu i don't really want you banned (esp since you're so sportive with everyone shouting that you're bad) but please never do what you did again.

I did experience same as Tekno. My team got the ball from mulu at their own goal and scored 5 seconds after. Im quite sure mulu's action gave us a much bigger chance of winning that game. Tthis was surely a misstake (which you realized later) by mulu and thats how we humans learn.
A warning sounds good to me.

Leave it alone yo, i have come to understand that rules in this game can be broken and bended as much as people want, only some chosen players gets banned. After seeing what this guy did and him getting a pass makes me lol pretty hard.

:\ c'mon son, you know that this was done as fair as possible. give me a little credit, you also got the benefit of the doubt in that i know you spectating because a stoptourney vote failed isn't normal behavior.

ill have to +1 this. give ssd a break, its hard to close to impossible to determine objectively if someone is throwing the game on purpose or not. thats why u dont see a lot of ppl getting banned for it and a lot of warnings being handed out before any action is actually taken against it. if u can prove that this is what was going on in this game and that mulu is infact a smurf im sure he will get a ban for it.

Void, whatever the reasoning, spectating to protest a lack of stop tourney does nothing but worsen the situation. The fact that we are fairly certain mulu did not try to lose the game on purpose already permits us to simply give him a warning, and not a ban. This is furthered by the fact that there were no admins present and from the information given we believe the safest route would be just to give him a pass this time. Your actions on the other hand have an obvious intent to screw with the ladder, and if you weren't someone with a good track record we wouldn't hesitate to ban you for that. We try to be fair in every case we deal with but we can't please everybody, and in this case we believe we've found the best solution we can.

I'd really appreciate it if when/if you ban me, you do it for the more appropriate reason, or true reason. Lots of people blame me for their losses, and while sure I'm probably not amazing I still do pretty decent, & others on ladder make similar mistakes that I do.

Anyways, I don't want to write a story so I'll keep this short. I started playing ladder because I was bored of everything else, people just aren't that good outside of ladder. I wanted to have a challenge, and ladder was that. I wasn't the best but I'd like to think I really improved over the time I've played ladder. Many thought I was a troll, others thought I was a smurf (I think because there is one in twenty games I do very very good for some reason, I just play the same though). It was really fun though, the fast transitions from being harassed to being cheered on, it was unique.. or interesting?

Moving on, a lot of people pretty much disliked me at the end of the day no matter how good I did, and they've been wanting me kicked/banned since I started playing ladder (like a week ago I think). Today, 10/5/11, I was playing and thought I could try something different (stupid as hell now that I think of it & it was explained why it was bad), so I went to our goal, not intending to score it and throw the game or whatever people thought I was doing (I was fully aware going into our goal doesn't score it unless enemy gets it & ball changes color), and then "void shake/bake" started crying & moaning to "STOP TOURNY" because I was "throwing the game" and while sure it could look like that, I just made a really stupid move. I had scored a goal & almost 2 others that I missed that game, and wasn't doing too bad overall in my opinion.

Anyways, I apologize to all my haters & fans for making a stupid move. My point here is, I don't want to be banned for "throwing a game" I'd prefer the real reason (that everyone is escalating this mistake) and just ban me for "being bad" (or "being really bad" if that is preferred).

I don't think I deserve it, but I do realize I'm worse than others & for that reason I'll stop playing ladder until I get a response from an admin about whether or not I'm allowed to play.

Sorry again for any trouble.

P.S. I'm not a smurf or troll, I just make stupid mistakes sometimes & other times I do pretty well.

I'm not gonna bother reading your wall of text, but you were either throwing the game or proving that you're a complete retard. This is the last post on here, good luck in your games.

peace

ok, talked to a couple people and my official response is as follows:

mulu, stop doing that thing where you clear that far back. it's akin to you putting a pile of money in a public area with a sign that says "FREE $$" and not expecting anyone to take it. in the future, please do not do that as while the action itself is not meant to be an intentional goal given up, the risk is too great and it could be considered to be so risky that it actually is throwing the game. if i hear reports of you doing it again, i will not hesitate to ban you.

void, spectating to prove a point is letting the terrorists win. there aren't three players in the game better than you at ball and you spectating the entire game isn't going to stop them from raining goals all day. if you do it again, it's a ban.

that is all

I'm sorry to say that I'd have to agree with this guy... I'd say that he maybe gets off the hook for providing a legit chat log..
