I tried this out and I could not stop staring. Your artistic choices are hilarious and I love you.
Like of course rocks don't just hang out in mid-air, they should obviously be giant mushrooms. The skinny trees are my favourite, though. They make me think Dr. Seuss. I am super excited to see more maps from you. |

only complaint i have is it's way easier to play when you turn parallax off but meh... that's just what happens when you have a lot of art work. |

It might just be the scrolling background and how its grey on grey -_- I tried a bunch of other things for the background but couldn't really find anything that worked. I'm still not really happy with it if anyone has suggestions on what else I could do

Yeah but actually I think that's really good. Now there can be no confusion when someone says 'yellow' and i'm looking at a red/blue game.

One thing that works well is to make a background that is horizontally mirrored. That way you save space because the image doesn't have to be the size of the entire map. Maybe go with a darker background, such as a lot of black, that way it really contrasts with the grey level.

So your background is 2400x1300 = 3120000pixels x 4bytes/pixel = 12480000bytes * 1MB/1048576bytes = 11.90185546875MB of video ram used just for the background! Now the real question is does this really matter? We have a few users w/ something like 32MB of vram but they probably have parallax turned off anyways and if you look at steam stats: 97% of users have over 64MB of vram... So as long as you dont have multiple large background it shouldn't be a big deal... but i know for sure we have some people playing on really old hardware (dio used to, not sure if he still does). I've heard other mention they play on the original geforce 256. |

Great to see this map get unique art, hopefully it'll get played as much as it deserves now.
![]() Random stuff: - Overall like the look. It's not super awesomely professional, but it has charm. - The pillars aren't quite as good as the rest of the art. Something about the top of them looks funny. - I don't think there's a big enough color difference between the gray collideable rocks and the darker gray background. Maybe even just shroud the whole background layer behind fog or something, or at least dark and/or desaturate it a bit. - It'd be really cool to have another parallaxed background layer with some random stalactites and **** ala Lost City. I don't think it'd take much work compared to what you've put in so far, and it'd be really neat. - I like the nice fat black outline around all the collidable stuff. - The ground is pretty awful. ![]() - the cack & balls are maybe a bit much :/ - the water in the center is a little weird as a collideable object. - the ocean in the distance doesn't look as good as the rest of the art ...but yeah, this is great to see. gogog everyone and put this up on your servers. |

okay, just played a long ass game on this so here's some more feedback:
- the stalactites above the base are really hard to see in the middle of the action. a few people suicided on them because they just kind of fade into the background. ![]() - it's not at all obvious that the stalk of the mushrooms aren't collidable. - just have to say it again: the background is a little too close to the main object color, needs to be less distracting. |

Agree with all comments that it's often difficult to tell collidable foreground objects from the background. Other than that, I love the remake. I find myself forgetting that it's just grotto; often seems like a completely new map.
