Default First scrim results

=AIR= vs [BBQ]
Result: 2-1:6-5 6-5 3-6

{arr} vs [BBQ] (played with 1 sub)
Result: 2-1
(Scores anyone?)

Participants: Keppo, Gustav, Eggplant, Tominator, Wolf (Yarode), O v n i, qq and Beefheart (and squid&whale and unbreakable as subs)

In general:

I really liked playing with you guys and I hope you did as well! We showed up with 70% of the squad, thanks for that! I think we did a great job against both opponents, even sometimes taking over the game, although we were not consistent enough to win them. Against AIR we couldn't push through in the 2 games we lost although we had some good movement and pushing which resulted in a 5-3 lead twice The match against arr was different, while in the first match (with a full [BBQ] squad) we had a wonderful comeback and won with great play, the last two we were overclassed. I talked with eggplant and tomi about what we should do different and what we have learned. In general the most important thing is that I and others think we have lots of potential!

Lessons learned (maybe we need a seperate place for discussing tactics lol, but what the heck):

- We need to get to know each others movements and positioning. This is something that will just takes time and practice.

- Ball is all about the ball. Do not forget about it, don't focus too much on killing. A well placed clear or pass is often as or more effective as killing the enemy and can result in a fast counterstrike. This goes for heavy planes especially. Do not be afraid to handle it and keep it. Dying with the ball is often better then getting randomly rid of it and maybe accidentally pass the ball to the enemy. A good option in some maps is to clear it towards our spam area when you know we just had some dead planes. Lights should really watch whether it is best to position themselves for a pass to clear and counter, or help in defence.

- Ovni and others who do not feel comfortable shooting at goal from distance and different angles: Go and start practice this in an offline map with 1 sucky bot in your own goal, so you can have like a 100 shots in a row from different angles.

- Whales will have to figure out how they want to organise defence and who will push and who will defend. Also, whether they each want to cover 1 choke point or work more on intuition.

Has someone something to add, i will be glad to hear about it and i will add it in the list.

Tasty games today BBQ, your strong basis is definitely on the beat. I can see a very bright future for you... as long as you stay in our shadow

Hello captain and teammates, good analysis of the games yesterday and behavier of the team.

I think we showed a great attitude and potential.

I will work hard to improve my weak points.

So could you guys give your availability ASAP for:

Sky League 3.4 this sunday 6pm GMT

Due to a lack of availability of players, we cannot participate

ok ok.

I have become a maybe so we need wolf and robke to respond in order to subscribe for this, otherwise i am afraid the chances on a forfeit are too big.

Default Rookie member system

From now on we have a new system for high potential players with little experience. Once spotted by our captains (invitational only) they are invited to join BBQ as a ROOKIE, wearing the tag [BBQR]. With this tag they can participate in all scrims and leagues of BBQ. Other BBQ members can give feedback about whether they think the rookie player got what it takes to become a full member. So they can go either way from here; either they are out or they prove their value and are added to the exclusive list of selective [BBQ] flyers.

(invited players with more (clan or ladder) experience will still directly be admitted to BBQ)

Currently we have one BBQ rookie: [BBQR] Chin Sei

Good luck!

Default Change in current recruitment policy

The current recruitment policy is changed to:

Invitational only (this counts for everybody except for some very experienced vets already playing in top clans or performing very well in ladder)

possible scrim:

[BBQ] vs {arr}

Wednesday 23 February 20.00 GMT

After the last succesful rematch against AIR we will now try to do same thing against {arr}, who finished 4th in last Sky League season out of 12 teams and were a size too big for us last time when we lost 2-1. After last victory on AIR i am now confident we can win and claim a place among the best clans active at the moment.

Please post your availibility here!

Confirmations:

Beefheart
Tomi
Gustav

ps. I have been trying to arrange a scrim with tvo and AH but it is a little problematic as the earliest AH can scrim is 9 gmt and tvo prefers weeekends. Could u guys also tell what is the latest time you are willing to scrim during weekday and about the availability in weekends?

Often we have scrims around 7.30ish, I think it might just be because a lot of our members are busy atm, so our availability for earlier times might improve.
