Can't connect to to update server

Posting this here since Lam is never online when I need him. I think he already knows the details, but I'll restate them in case Karl is reading or if someone else is having the same problem:

I'm on my work comp, behind the firewall here. It just takes forever and never finishes connecting. I've tried switching to a UDP port that's supposed to be open, and I also had them unblock the default port (27272) here and gave that a shot. Still nothing.

Thoughts? Anything else to try?

Altitude also uses TCP port 1649 to communicate with the matchmaker. If the work firewall is super-restrictive by default, forwarding that might work.
