Im trying to do this... I downloaded the rotaltitude and extracted the zip. How do i get it to run on altitude. I feel so dumb ._.

To anyone having trouble with Altitude crashing upon injecting with AltInjector on Windows Vista/7, try running both Altitude and AltInjector with admin privileges.

hey tyr I was just watching everyone's video and tried my self, but not drunk (sadly)... And I noticed your rotating is kinda small you make a big spin with loopy and the screen barely moves....I dunno if I did something but if I just touch a litle left or right the screen rotates almoast 180degrees... So its kinda inposible to fly around like you did guys...WHat did I dooooo

I think Fraps, while recording, slows the rotation a lot.
So yeah, I guess it makes it a bit easier ...

If you're holding up (IE: using afterburner) it will also spin faster. Dunno if thats what you're doing, but its important to note. In the future I'd like to make a Rotaltitude thats synced with your plane's current rotation, but I haven't gotten there yet.

I admit I'm not too knowledgeable about this stuff, but doesn't this fall under the category of a hack? Even if its function is benign, I'm a little concerned about how it's being so openly discussed. Though I guess it would be best to hear the developers weigh in on this.

That has nothing to do with the problem that MoxyCrimefighter is facing. The RotAltitude program itself doesn't work on a Mac, so it doesn't matter that you managed to find a recording program for Mac.

There's nothing wrong with benign hacks. The word "hack" gets a bad rep because the more well known ones are malicious (because why would a hack be well known if it didn't do anything bad?), but hacks are not inherently bad.

I'm 100% certain the developers have already seen this thread and are getting some lulz out of it.

Yeah, it does fall under the classification of a hack, but I can't see why anyone would have any problem with it. I don't plan on releasing the source, and even if I did, developing a hack that would actually provide an advantage to someone would be incredibly challenging, so I don't think there's much risk of that. And RotAltitude itself certainly can't be seen as providing an advantage to someone, so I don't really see any problems associated with it that need to be looked into.

I don't think we should be willing to dismiss all 'hacks' as bad. For instance, in another game I have programmed stuff for, Starcraft, there are many competitive-community-sanctioned 'hacks' that add a lot of depth and usability to the game. Stuff like that should be embraced, not squashed, I think.

I remade RWA support ( http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/view...topic_id=70326 ) and did a few other things I haven't ever released/finished, but most notably I made APMAlert ( http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/view...topic_id=55181 )
