weird internet crash followed by unable to get into alt

I was observing some league matches then all of sudden my ping went to 999 and I dropped out of the game. When I clicked to update the servers nothing appears. Then I realized that the lights on my modem are off and I could not open any webpage. After a while I was able to open google but I can't get Altitude past the updating screen. It is just like a few weeks ago when my computer couldn't update altitude and i had to reinstall Altitude to get it going again.

If anyone knows any detail on whats going on POST!

EDIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am able to log into Altitude again, but the problem should be looked into

so did you restart before reinstalling?
both computer and altitude, that is.

Also, did you check your ports, that the modem hadn't reset itself since it seemed to have a fit?
