Tried that, still same thing happens, removing the mousegrab just changed the behaviour, when you get to the top of the screen where the screen stops scrolling.... you can can pull the plane away from the center so it's not sitting on where the mouse is located so outside the corruption briefly.
I'm wondering if this has anything to do with hardware_cursor settings flag I've seen in other games or if it's something else. Either way something has to be set so it doesn't attempt to redraw the pointer and cause the corruption.
