Default Please stop repainting my plane between maps.

For the sake of sanity, I would like to be able to choose one color at a time that I fly as (in user options), and have the game work around that rather than create arbitrary colors and assign me to it.

So if I choose Red, my messages for MY TEAM will always show up as "Red Team Wins!" or whatever, but then it will be doing that for all users just showing "%playercolor Team Wins!"

Or, hey, if you MUST name the teams something else (so that everybody on the team knows what to call itself), allow a local override of the color of the sprites per team so that yes I could always be Red versus Blue if I wanted to despite their being called Azure and Green in a given round.

If you turn on color blind modes the teams are always red vs blue (right vs left).

This would not solve the problem, because I could still be team-changed... and thus one map be red, and the next blue. The point is to avoid having to shift the color toward which I am aggressive so a new game starts and I'm not paying attention and suddenly I'm dropping bombs on my own people.

I have the same trouble in TeamFortress. Admittedly it isn't serious, but it is something that could easily be solved on the user end.

If you have that much of an attachment to an entirely arbitrary team identifier, arbitrary because it could be anything (a colour on a computer screen; a bandana; an area code; a slogan) and also because it is designed to be changed at will, that you get confused by its arbitrariness, then you are dangerous.

Let me guess - when coalition forces bombed Iraqi installations only to find out they'd hit a church where two families were congregating to conduct and celebrate a marriage, you found it hard to sympathise because 'they' were the enemy because 'they' were born in the wrong country and 'they' had a middle-eastern complexion?

This is why you are dangerous.

Ummm, it isn't that serious dude.

The reason you can't change the colour of your plane yet is because you can't change the color of your plane yet. That simple. The creators will decide if that is necessary, as for as I'm concerned that has very small value if any to them.

Any game with teams that I can think of is like this. Why is color changing such a big problem?

if this is such a huge problem - chose colorblind more, and when starting the game press " T " and chose the side you wish to play for. this way it is 90% possible to play for once single color all the time.

Wouldn't it be 100% possible at that point? Where is this random 90% coming from?

When I see "red", and say it is "red" like:
the setting sun
the blood of a lamb
a steamed pork bun
cheap reformed ham

how do we know that it is not what you would call "blue" if you had my eyes? Perhaps what we both call red we see differently. And perhaps it really isn't a big deal, and making it so is very, very, very odd.

jeez guys, relax. team color is not an issue at all. It would take so much work to try to do what you want, and just becuase you prefer to be one color over another every single time? honestly, thats just stupid. i suggest that if you wan to be on one color or another, just die, press "t" and choose which team you want. honestly, its just that simple, dont make such a big deal out of it.

well sometimes - the server redistribute you (can't find the right word at the moment) in spite of your will - at the end it seems that you intentionally changed teams twice. And I also remember some time on your server Maimer, where the change of teams was switched off - and once you were in a wrong team, you couldn't actually get to the other one, if needed. so here're those 10...ok maybe 1%.

Yea Really. They make it sounds like its a Fashion Show or something. Or how little girls try to match the boy they like, sounds like this to me.

It wouldn't take "so much work" to make the local user a constant color. Please stop exaggerating or speaking from conceptual ignorance.

Listen all you jackasses, if you treat people who come here that make suggestions as stupid morons, nobody is going to make suggestions. Forget this forum.

"Stupid morons?" No. Some people, myself included, think that making the local user a constant color is not very important. That does not belittle your suggestion. We're not trying to insult your character. You posted a suggestion and we responded.

Well Said Wintegral. Listen Used you must feel like your been "used" or mocked at or what have you, but your not. We think that your suggestion is not that necessary at the time, besides you stated something about making a local user a constant color, WTH are we gonna play tbd, or tdm, or obj, or ball, if everyone is a different color? Come up with an answer and maybe it can be possible, but as for now, it won't happen.

ok, really? u think it would be easy to make your color the same every time? maybe if it were one person, but when you have 10-20 people on the same server playing tbd, each wanting their own color... the only way would be to display your teams color as one thing, while someone els on your team sees a different color on their screen. The problem is the HUGE amount of memory it would take to make this work. servers would lag.. badly. Stop dreaming, and get real.

You know, I think he means that his team would always be one color. Yeah, having one person being blue when it's green vs. yellow would be lunacy, but I don't think that's what he meant. If it is, well then that would be trouble.
