Sound effects are almost unhearable

Hi!
Suddenly all the in-game sounds became almost inaudible while the music, button clicks, rings in the begining of a match, spawn sounds work just fine. Sometimes effects start to sound as they should for a second or so.

I have tried reinstalling the game as well as the soundcard drivers — does not help at all. Reported this bug a week ago via build-in command, hope to find response here. It could happen I am not the only one with this bug.

Check options->sound just to make sure the volume wasn't turned out.

unfortunately log files don't help with these sort of issues... we'll take a look at your hardware and see if we can find a computer and try to reproduce the issue.

noticed this today as well, went away after restarting the game but the symptoms were the same. Clicks, spawning, team chat all made noise but weapon fire didn't.

are you running any other audio applications/games? OpenAL implementations are pretty poor... Alt-tabbing should have the same effect as restarting altitude if you're having sound issues. We try our best to detect bad "sources" but the driver implementations are terrible... you could try installing the latest drivers for your soundcard.

Today tried swithcing from that SB Audigy to the built-in Realtek ALC850. Well, it works now. Still, that issue seems to be strange enough because SB worked for half a year just fine with Altitude. After another update (have no other refernece point) of the game all FXs became very quite (read almost inaudible). Than it swithced on back again just to go off in a week.

Not quite sure if i had the same problem, but i remember turning my speakers up 2 or 3 times and playing with the winamp volume because something was weird about the altitude sounds.
Can't be more specific right now, but i ll try again next week, when i m back at my desktop pc.
