A lot of people want this map removed because it is way too big and games played on this map routinely last 20-45 minutes which sucks for spectators who are waiting patiently for the next ball ladder match to start. I think everyone who plays ball ladder will support this notion.

there are two ball mayhems
ball_mayhem, and ball_mayhem2 (or was it 1?) both versions are in ladder, and I agree that the original one should be removed |

yeah initially 2 was meant to replace 1, right? 1 def needs to go, games are way too long and get boring quickly. maybe consider asteroids, cube, and/or atmosphere.

Yeah, woods and mayhem were removed from official maps so they should probably imo be removed from ladder too.

Keep mayhem2, remove mayhem. Remove cross...? I know, I keep swimming upstream on this, but I'll ask anyway. I don't like labyrinth or lostcity, but I recognize enough people do like those maps. But cross? Usually that map selection is followed by collective groans (unless you are CCN) on ladder.

Games on cross basically just end up being slaughter feasts at the bottom. There's little to do with passing and other neat stuff, just killing in an open field.

I have no problem removing cross, mayhem, and woods (is this even on the ladder can't remember). Seeing as none of those are official maps and no one seems to be thrilled with them then it shouldn't be a problem taking them off. It just means less overall maps on the ladder though.
Let's start with those and see what happens from there. If we went ahead and removed labyrinth and lost city there would be like 5 maps left? That seems like it would get real boring real fast. Nobodyhome, if you read this, feel free to remove those maps (mayhem, cross, and woods) from the vote random map and the ability to vote those maps as well. edit: I just checked and woods isn't on the list as far as I can tell. So I guess for now just remove cross and mayhem. I will update the lobby to reflect those changes once you give me the word that it is done. Or if you don't want to do it just let me know. Thanks, Maimer. And I agree about leaving labyrinth and lostcity for now. I think maps like atmosphere and asteroids could potentially replace them at some point.

ummm....why was mayhem taken off official? its a good map. why take it off when you have crap like tbd nuclear which is just a core copy that's hard to look at?
the mayhem maps are my fav in ball. the give the best balance of passing ability, dribbling ability, skill shot ability...everything you could really want in a ball map. ---------- related sidenote, atmosphere isn't ready imo. it has potential, but it's def far from polished |

arab, I agree that mayhem2 is a good map and that's why it's still there, but mayhem1 is just too long to play.
When it comes to labyrinth and lost city, I don't feel a need to remove those maps. If there are problems with them then the maps could be further modified just like was done earlier, but they provide an adequate experience for now. The maps atmosphere, asteroids and cube are on the arr servers 1-3 for testing purposes (they can only be selected by change_map or vote change_map) and I hope that players play them and give feedback so that they can in time be made official. |

![]() By the way, I'd appreciate it if people would download the maps beforehand from the forums and put them in their maps folder, as it seems to take a lot of time to load them from the server when lots of people are missing the map. The largest of the 3 is 1.7MB and for some reason the server throttles the download speeds so that it might take up to 10 minutes to download. Sadly I have no control over this as it's not my own VPS. |

Semi agree with removing Lost City, although it's nowhere near as bad as Mayhem1 and more of a personal preference instead. If you remove Cross, however, you remove my still-beating heart. I love that map

I personally have no problem with both Mayhems, but I can understand why some people do.
As for cross, I really have no problem with that one either, in fact, it's one of my favorite maps |

There's a limitation in the server config for that? If so, that's probably the cause then, as I have not touched this setting.
For me it is boring to play. I never have problems with speccing for long periods as I can just alt-tab and surf the web, but playing that map for so long is just frustrating. The ball is often bonding in the low corridor, people killing each other and not making any progress or major movement. |

Problem is the Steam Windows version doesn't atm seem to have the configurator exe anymore so I do my editing by notepad, and it's easy to miss stuff that way.
Thanks anyway, I'll have to tweak that in next server reset.
