Yes I know I have roids again, but I didn't have the heart to put Core and Mid (which is back by popular demand) in the same week

As usual let me know if I made any mistakes or if you played any of the matches i scheduled before.

EDIT: Bold matches are if we decide to play all the games this week to get the playoffs started.

Do you not see the list Deni? lol Also yes, you do have to play ## but they only have 1 game left so I decided to prolong it to last week. If people want we can try to power through all of it this week, I have 6 matches left on my list

get it done this week it will only make it 2-3 matches for every team.. so we can start the playoffs! thanks for not putting core and middleground on the same day.

EDIT: but sammich would have 3 matches plus the reschedule of flb so i guess its their call..

ACE has 2 reschedules + possibly 3 games lol. Too many people are calling for reschedules. It's effing normal times for both euros and americans. Only the people living in Russia/Asia could have problems.

FN (i hear they were dropped out of the tourney)
fLb (if we don't play you this sunday let's just DQ you, I havent heard any good reason to resched in the past 2 weeks)

So is that a vote to just plow through to the Playoffs after this sunday? If this happens every match not played is required to played by next monday morning, everyone that hasn't rescheduled by then will get losses. Top 8 advance to the playoffs which will be single elimination BO3 until the finals which are gonna be BO5.

EDIT: Guess I'm gonna add it here since the other thread is from last week. Anyway ACE adding eth instead of bob
EDIT2: It's not FN who didn't show up to the ball game afaik, I know FN players were looking for ball people and Nikon didn't have a team so I think it's FN who took the WO win (letting Pie know)

I check the calendar and I'd prefer if we could do it this way, oh and also not like Sammich is gonna get raped if you sit out to rest for a couple of games, you have a pretty killer lineup even if you chillax a bit

Yes, I'm trying to get it over by May 9th, we'll see if that's possible. I'm gonna have a jamp packed schedule from May 15th onward so I'm trying to push this a bit. I know if we push this sunday is gonna be hectic, but after that each team that advances only has potentionally 3 games til the end.

EDIT: And yes, double elim just takes too long and it doesn't really bring much to the table

Heh the whole point of the pre-season is to set up for the playoffs. It wouldn't make sense if a team was in first place before the playoffs but got the worst spot in the playoffs.

I think it looks something like:

1 plays 8
3 plays 6

4 plays 5
2 plays 7


winner match 1 plays winner match 2
winner match 3 plays winner match 4

winners above play each other.

This is designed so first and second place teams don't knock each other out early on which would be lame.

Exactly as Mike said, the idea is to not let 1st and 2nd cross paths until finals, assuming that 1st and 2nd make it to the finals

assuming that team 1>team 2>team 3>team 4 and so on...

i think that this way makes arriving 4th better than arriving 3rd :

1 v 8
3 v 6

4 v 5
2 v 7

hypothetical semis would be:

1 v 3 and 4 v 2 making it much more difficult for number 3 to get to the final.

i think double elimination after semifinals would be better, it would just be 2 more games.

You don't get the playoff system, top 2 teams deserve to have an easier time getting to the playoffs, the lower you are the harder it is. You had all season long to place in top positions, failing to do so leaves you in a tougher position. It's pretty standard. And no, double elim doesn't bring anything except a prolonged league. TBH everyone knows that Sammich and ACE have like a 90% chance of meeting in the finals and no ammount of double elims will save people

I think what he was trying to say was that the brackets should be organized as follows:

1v8
4v5

2v7
3v6

In which case I agree, as this gives the third place team more of a chance of making it past the semifinals than the fourth place team.

yeah.. that was one of the points i was trying to get through.. also double elimination adds, if you think about the last apl where one team came back from the losers bracket.. and it gives you the opportunity to play the second best team if you lose against the first best. otherwise if its so obvious that the final will be ACE vs (||) why bother with playoffs? i was just considering double elim from semifinals so 2 matches but if its too much then dont do it, but consider doing the brackets like pie said since at least it gives the opportunity to the third to face the second best team and not the first.. sorry if i missed something or if you dont get it but i rushed it a bit, i might edit it later if it doesnt make sense at all..

yea have to agree, however, people could loose matches in hope to get 4th place and more chance of semis...lawl! another good idea, is to do a random pick but do not allow top 4 teams play each other so you have a pot on your left of top 4 and pot on right of bottom four, pick one from left and one from right, they play each other! this eliminates any teams specifically trying to loose and manipulating results! I know people might think the person who picks would cheat, but i think a mediator would be good, personally i think mike would be good, OR two could do it so one person rights bottom four (with a RANDOM number) so they call the number over msn and other person does not know who the team behind the number is) anyway just some ideas!

i know yall may not belive me but i have run many tournaments, in real life.

in de, best way to do it, that i have seen is:

1v8
4v5

3v6
2v7

this way, even if 3 cant beat 2, they can beat 4 in the looser bracket and then have a chance at 2 again, presuming that the better seed wins
