Default kickable offenses

im not sure if this exists anywhere already, but i was just hoping we could try and compile a comprehensive list of things which people should/can be kicked for.

my contribution: spamming the chat, long term afk, and general douche baggery

does general douche baggery include bomb camping after being told to stop nicely?

in no particular order

-asking for a free key
-trying to votekick ryebone
-failing with the bomb over and over again, ignoring requests to let someone else have a try

kicking other people for no reason.

everytime i see a stupid votekick, i start a votekick to kick the person who started it. so incredibly satisfying when it passes.

i was considering putting that on the list... and imo yes, bomb camping is a kickable offense. Although, I do always request that people stop far before starting a vote kick

Kicking people for bomb camping is stupid. I could understand if they were just griefing your team by instantly dropping the bomb or something... but they're just BAD PLAYERS. You're effectively kicking someone because they're bad at the game... and that's really something we should only be doing to Caped.

Also, not everyone has chat enabled. I know JV is always ranting and raving how he's got chat disabled for his kid, so he doesn't have to put up with assholes like me.

no, there is a clear difference between bad players and bomb campers. When i started playing the game i only took the bomb if i spawned and it had already fully appeared. I have no problem with bad players, or anyone trying to learn to bomb. I DO have a problem with jerks who are only concerned with themselves, which is the definition of a bomb camper. I saw a person today who ignored the enemy bomb lobbed at his base, even though it was a slow lob centimeters away from him, so that he could continue circling the not nearly spawned bomb.

At this point, this person is not a bad player. A bad player flies in and tries to kill random opponents, crashes into walls, and picks up a bomb that is already there when they spawn. They are learning to play. Im cool with that. A bomb camper on the other hand is just a tax to the team, merely taking up a slot on the roster where someone who might actually want to play TEAM base destruction, rather than some twisted free-for-all that happens to include other people who cant shoot them.

that being said, if the bomb has nearly respawned, feel free to loop around once or twice to pick it up, but please dont just loop worthlessly when it is not even visible.

I always kick people when they constantly nag for registration codes. SOoooooo stupid. I tell them it won't work more than once, they keep on asking. I say it again, they tell me to f off. Then, I kick them.

But, I admit it can be damn funny sometimes when people get kicked for nicknames. I laughed a couple times at the reasons I got kicked when my name was A.R.A.B. and the chat box wars over evil palestinians and israel lol.

There are plenty of 'jerks' who only play for themselves. Plenty of vets just play to farm up the best streak or inflate their K for E-bragging. I somehow doubt you're voting to kick them.

Also find it odd how you seem to think bomb campers are only in it for themselves. I think it's just a sense of contribution/role play. They're playing the "attacker" and it's not there job to defend. They know they can't dogfight so they play the role of bomb dropper.

That's how I look at it anyway. I don't think they're being "jerks" on purpose (for the most part)... they just don't know any better.

ya blanks right, bomb campers are just bad players, usually.

They are just scared to dogfight and so don't know what else to do. Actually bomb camping seems on the decline recently anyways, so I don't think it's a big issue.

Now people who bomb camp and then prematurely drop the bomb every time, yeah, they're totally selfish. Or people who bomb camp and then refuse to leave the base on an escort mission, also aggravating.

The camping itself? Meh doesn't bother me too much. If they're not annoying like I said above, u can usually just follow them, and when they die, you'll get the bomb.

Yeah, I don't find camping too annoying; if there's already people waiting for the bomb I generally go off to control the middle / build up bars, or attack the enemy carrier, or find a nice powerup. There's plenty to do.

The only time bomb-camping is a pain is when the same guy's failed the bombing run three times in a row and STILL comes back to bomb-camp - jeez, let someone else have a go?

One thing that bugs me though is when your bomb-carrier falls into an irrecoverable stall, and SHOOTS the bomb before he dies rather than just dying and letting a circling ally pick it up, even when there's no enemy planes in sight. Although I'm not sure that should necessarily be a kickable offense; I usually put it down to not knowing how the game works. Of course, if you do it on purpose, that's just a dick move.

yeah, I think people just panic and/or don't know how it works. and probably some players got used to center bomb maps where it usually makes sense to drop it in that situation.

meh, i am annoyed with people only worried about kdr's as well, but i think that they benefit the team simply by reducing the enemy's numbers.

other than that, i apologize for my initial impression. I do not mean to say that every person who waits for a bomb to spawn is worthy of being kicked, i am primarily annoyed when a person refuses to do anything other than camp and drops the bomb before death. to me there are two rules of bombing
1. Dont camp incessantly. only one person can get the bomb, why should it always be you?
2. dont drop the bomb because you are going to die, unless it could hit their base (with the exception of neutral bombs, and even then only if its near your base or no allies could recover it)

most people that i see camp break both of those sacred principles.

that aside, the clear distinction, to me, between bad players and people who piss me off is repetition of the act after being politely asked to stop. I guess if someone's chat is off, i am annoyed with them unjustly, but i think that is a minority.

This is why we need pre-programmed "radio" commands (macros). That way it could be safe for all users (thereby circumventing the younger kids who have chat turned off and keep circling the bomb) and it would give a more official feel to when someone says "Stop camping the bomb" or something like that.

+1 to everything DevilsAdvocat said, that's a really good summary of the bomb-camper situation. I like your "rules of bombing", they need to be inscribed on a rock somewhere.

As for the ratio whores, I actually don't mind at all; I find it's generally pretty useful for defense to have one or two good dogfighters with three gold bars patrolling your side of the map.

I think radio macros that go out to everyone is a great idea; it'd allow a lot more teamplay from people who have chat disabled.

yet again, I'm sorry for coming off so harshly, I dont hate ration whores generically. I only dislike them when they start not helping their teams, for the sake of preserving their goldies. Iv got mad respect for people with goldies who still catch a bomb tho. it just shows the massive size of their metaphorical pen**. They're telling the world "psh, goldies? i get them all the time, so this is no big deal. Im just glad they got me the increased speed from the goldies to catch the bomb in time."
