We don't need to add more maps, don't know where you got that idea. We currently have 15 ladder maps in the random pool, with 10 of them being team bomb maps and 5 of them being neutral. Ideally, I would like to add one more team bomb map to replace lostcity but otherwise keep the map pool size and team/neutral bomb ratio the same. That means that for assembly to make the random rotation, I would have to remove a neutral map. The general consensus in ladder whenever middleground came up seemed to be pretty much disgust and how much everyone hated it and wanted to stop the tournament, so I was wondering if people liked assembly more and whether or not I should swap it in.

Not all the maps on ladder are in the random rotation because there are many people who play ladder that do not wish to risk their points on untested maps. For those that do, there is the custom start_map command.

Every time middle comes up in ladder there's people bitching and moaning about it and time to time stop_tourney vote comes up. I haven't ever seen this on other maps. I find assembly much more fun to play myself too.

Middleground is bad but I don't feel assembly's ready to replace it. The graphics are awesome but the gameplay's not great IMO.

I feel like I have a visual disadvantage if I don't play with parallax off on assembly, which is unfortunate considering pig's map art. From the games I've played I don't think it's ready to replace middleground. And does anyone else think the bottom is too randa-friendly?

Middleground has an important role in the ladder map pool. Getting specced on Middleground is God's way of saying 'Go to bed'.
