Default Maps and map downloading

I seem to have to re-download non-standard maps every time I play on one. Is this the case?
It would be nice if this wasn't the case as my connection is infuriatingly slow!

P.S. My first post! Congratulations to the developers, the game is really good, hope to buy full version soon.

Once a download completes you should never have to download that map again (it will save to ~Altitude/maps/download). There may, however, be several versions of a map with the same name, in which case you will have, for example, tbd_woods.altx, tbd_woods(2).altx, etc in your map directory.

I was thinking of, when you first connect you’re shown a list of new maps.
You can choose to download specific titles from certain servers (check box style) or just continue into the game.

related to map downloading......my tbd_laby got jacked up when I tried to alter it, so now whenever I play the map, everything is invisible except planes and special sprites like bases and items. I tried deleting the map and re-downloading, but it still shows up all white and invisible. I deleted the altx version.

Weird - try deleting your cache directory: ~Altitude/maps/cache
