Ladder- Extra Slots?

I must say, i like additional slots. Because now we have real chance to start 2nd ladder. Im not playing much(at least wasnt coz of broken PC) but i personally saw like 3 times, when people successfully start new ladder of same type.
And i dont remember any moment like this in past/

I wanted to make a suggestion and rather than start a new thread I thought it was relevant to the player slots discussion.

Is it possible to reserve slots for players of greater skill?

Either give better players the ability to bump a lower ranked player off a server OR (possibly easier to implement --> ) give greater weight in the choosing of teams to players of a higher ranking. Something like +1 to anyone over 1500, +0 to anyone under 1500. All the ones are picked first, then the dregs get remaining slots.

I realize this would mean I would have to wait for a game more often as I have a dismal record - but I think it might appease the better players - and improve the quality of games.

That's completely not fair though and against the point of ladder, which is to rank everyone accurately. Also, it would mean alienating new players. I don't even see the need for this TBH.

just trying to bump this thread. It's Friday night and ladder #3 is 26/26 people - please explain to me why? Surely it makes sense to get two ladders going as speccing twice in a row makes me want to take up extreme ironing > Altitude. Please don't make me start ironing.

Ok I see your point. It was not my intention.

I only meant that I'd rather be playing against teams comprised of mostly the best players available in a ladder.

In a perfect world there would be 8 or 10 slots reserved that would be open to the best of the best first, then anyone with at least 100 games played, then everyone else including newbies. The last 2 or 4 slots then would be totally random.

People talk a lot more now and there's more of a community feel this season due to more people in spectator chat. Apart from the one person who shouts spec chat which ruins conversations. :S
