Default How to login from Linux for Steam accounts

I have bought altitude through Steam on Windows. I believe I also installed it via Steam on Windows.

Now I want to play it under Linux and downloaded the standalone (altitude.sh installer) version. It installs and starts up fine, but how do I login to my account from Altitude?

When I choose "Switch Users" and enter my email address it says it is not taken yet, which means my Steam email-ID is not associated with Altitude login info?

I want to play this game from Linux but login as my regular account?

My Vapor ID = b48be965-2e69-4a51-9222-4acd8a382424

No, I'm not using Steam on Linux. I've downloaded the standalone version (altitude.sh installer) and trying to login to my existing account through that. My existing account was done through Steam on Windows

So do I need to rebuy the game to use it from Linux? I don't want to play it through Wine, I don't believe it wine is good enough.

Also, I don't mind rebuying it, but I don't want to create smurf accounts :S

In most cases if you purchased Altitude on Steam then you need to launch Altitude from Steam to access that account (authentication is done by Steam's servers, not by username/password). For now the best solution to run Steam-Altitude on Linux is WINE. Valve currently has Steam-Linux support in open beta -- we'll look into adding a native Steam-Linux-Altitude build (so you won't need WINE) when we get a chance.

Okay, I will give Wine a try and see how that works.
