How Do Clans Do In Ladder?

Apa made a request earlier tonight about how clans do as a whole in ladder. So, I decided to take the current players on each of the Top 8 clans per SL7 Registration. I then took each players' final ladder ratings from the previous season. Here's the results...

The bar graph is average of the players for each clan; the error bars are standard deviation:



The points represent each player. This is just to give an idea of some sort of spread of each team:



Some observations:

• The final four in SL7 playoffs correspond to the top average rated teams except {arr}
• Speaking of {arr}, they have one of the widest spreads of ladder ratings
• On the other hand, [x Smile x] has one of the smallest spreads, but is close to a few others as well
• Keep in mind that this doesn't account for activity in ladder. Some of the players in these clans played <20 games in a 10-month season

Just thought this was interesting and could promote discussion.

Huh, the arr column is quite the thing. Some are either too good or too bad.

By the way, are these stats from last season? Because I see two dots in the second chart almost reaching 5K rating.

Nice stats. Guess good individual skills form good building blocks to built a team.

but since fart was last year's winner should not vlix have the highest rated player in the distribution graph?

Dang it. Apparently when I copied/pasted Vlix's roster list from the thread, I missed him and Raisin for some reason. I think it's because they put their co-captianship up at top separate from the roster.

Anyway, I re-updated the graphs. The only significant change in the plot is the addition of Fart's score. The semi-big change in the bar graph plot is Vlix and t3c swap places, and the deviation in Vlix is now about 25% larger.

Just curious, do you have the individual names of the members of each clan? You mention SL7 registeration so I guess that means I'm included as part of {arr} even though I joined very late.. oh well

There really needs to be a clan ladder. Would give incentive for groups like {ball} to actually care about anything other than SL semi-finals.

I have the individual names as indicated in the SL7 registration page. So if you are on {arr}'s roster, then yes you'd have been grouped in with the {arr} statistics.

If the fantasy page gains the current rating of a player, it could be used to quickly show one team's ratings. To extend it further has two difficulties. Who would keep the "who is on which clan" table updated being the higher upkeep of the two. This over time upkeep be trivial if Alti had clans reported on join server (stealthfeaturerequest).
