Default give a warning before you shut servers down for updates

Like, a message saying servers will shut down in X minutes for an update for roughly X amount of time.

Sorry about that, unexpected network issue while updating.

Will try to give better warning next time; expect the servers to be back up within 5 minutes.

Each update also seems to shut down player hosted servers and not restart them properly. I'm not sure if the servers are even meant to restart, but it would be quite handy if they would. If they are supposed to, then there is a bug as the {arr} servers have never restarted after an update.

Thats just a misconfigured server. I had this problem with my servers once when permissions weren't set properly, so the updater could not re-run the server launcher. Once I fixed that problem, my servers have always restarted automatically upon receiving an update.

Hmm, the permissions should be fine, but I'll have to double check that one. Thanks for the tip.

Also, do the server update any maps automatically when they are first played, or do I need to throw the updated maps on the server myself? This time I went to play those maps first to get them on my comp and then tossed the updated maps to the server, but I assume there's probably a better or automated way to do this?

Edit: Seems like this is done on server restart. Am I right?

Yes -- servers will automatically download updated official maps after updating. We actually had some problems with the initial patch rollout last night so a few unlucky, properly configured servers might have ended up in a weird state where they were forced to restart manually that one time, but generally speaking properly configured servers will update and download new maps with no intervention from the maintainer.
