Okay almost every time I toggle fullscreen when I am currently in a game it kicks me. I think other people have this problem too, it's really getting on my nerves. And it is really annoying when you get kicked and you can't get back in the server because it's full now. It would be great if you could fix this. Thanks.

Happens to me all the time. It's annoying. Toggling fullscreen mode takes 2-3 seconds, and for some reason, game "disconnects" from server during this time or server just kicks me out. I learned to avoid this key.

It's a mac thing. On windows machines it takes like 0.1 seconds to toggle fullscreen.

I'm on windows and it does the same thing for me - lags me out. I just don't bother switching anymore.

it's really a driver and/or graphics card thing.
it's not an easy thing to fix since the main game thread is stuck there waiting... we would love to fix this but it's unlikely to be fixed in altitude. |

I have this problem too, but I figured it was my ping or internet connection...

Isn't there some way of sending a signal to the server prior to someone toggling full screen that says to the server "user is toggling full screen" and then it could allow for a longer period than normal before it causes the user to timeout? I assume that the situation now is that when the user toggles the full screen that it stops sending or receiving information from the server and then times out. Maybe I am completely wrong though and I dont fully understand the issue.

Wouldn't allowing people using Mac's to Command Tab in full screen mode or effectively Hide(Command H) in full screen mode fix this? There wouldn't be a reason to toggle between. Also, why doesn't Command M toggle? I need to go to options and click between the two which is very annoying.

The next month, they installed mirrors at every floor. Because people were too busy looking at themselves, they were less likely to realize how long it was taking for the elevator. Management had given the people something to do while they waited rather then make costly additions. Complaints after that point were non-existent. My understanding is we are timing out from the server because we didn't talk to it for too long. When full screen toggle is started, could the game request permission from the server to have an extended timeout period of around 10 seconds? In the worse case scenario, we appear in the server for about 8 or 9 seconds longer then we normally would have. I assume we would also need temporary permission to bypass the server ping timeout as well, as I recall this issue happening to me on no max ping servers. Perhaps we get listed as TOG during that time, similar to how BOT is displayed. For me, this is a lesser issue that I've come to plan for. I know the pot hole exist, and I may run into it. It may make me miss the opening play of a Ladder game, but my computer qq'ing during toggle would have perhaps already cost part of that. If Alti remembered passwords, my time removed from game would also be reduced ![]() tl;dr "Fixing" the issue of slow computers isn't a possible solution. Making it alright for slow computers to exist is. I've witnessed similar numbers. I play Ladder in full screen and generally spec in windowed mode. Last edited by Aki1024; 06-21-2012 at 07:51 AM. |

just to add to this suggestion. I use mac. This happened to me all the time and even caused me to get bans for joining late etc. Very, very frustrating.

I have this problem if I alt-tab out for a second (e.g. to figure out why my youtube music list stopped playing)
