Limited testing shows that a vote percentage can't be set by a server admin on the standard commands. They all appear to have hard-coded values.

I did see it go between 54% and 50% (no change in player numbers in server). Potentially custom commands could be made that allow changing the map, or alter the code so that "custom start_x" while a tourny game would keep the same team and only change map.

Alas, that takes time.

Personally, I don't like exception rules because they leave open for possibilities that can be exploited and people will disagree on your point that doodle is the only map people don't like to play.

Only because it opens it up for that silly o_o trend, no one actually enjoys doodle, because even if they did the majority of the people during the game won't and will express it either through plane picks, play-style, chat or whatever. (Uhmm it is not like I'm biased because I don't like this map, and as far as I know stating this completely nullifies any comment thereafter that is to use 'bias' as a method of negating what I said... p.s. who started o_o? I remember someone asking me to change my name to incorporate it, and a day or two later a bunch of people picked up on it.

But it results with the current teams being disbanded and new ones generated, thus having to make a choice between playing on the map or giving up a game and waiting for the next turn which is where I assume at least some of the votes for preventing stop_tournament from happening are coming from.

1) I can't remove doodle on my own volition (even though I like doodle it is not a good ladder map)
2) If doodle is allowed, people will start clamoring for other widely, but actually good ladder maps like maze, cutesy, and lost city to be allowed for changemaps.
3) Changemap is way too abusable and has been since being allowed to do it, thus there is zero chance of it being returned for just the one map.
4) The community can not handle a situation where it is ok to do something at one point and not ok in others.

I heard that truepain guy was working hard on some new maps for us. Maybe if some ladder players decided to help test some maps we could scrap all the **** ones and add some new quality maps.

I would like to formally request that this thread is used to properly issue reports for any rule-breaking action in the current ladder servers created and hosted by Vanishing. Thus far, I don't think any rule adopted from the original ladder has been taken the way it's meant to nor they've been enforced in any way at all.

Here's a simple example: spec chat. (Highlighted players were spectators. Highlighted chat were spec calls or ridiculous responses to the calls.)

While it does not bother me when spectators use all chat; it does when someone calls a very simple spec chat and people would completely disobey it in a mockery way. There is no true feeling of being aware that not following a simple rule will get you a 1 week ban or longer. Not like before.

As an addition to my request, it would be vastly helpful that another handful of admins were added to the current ladder servers. 5 admins that aren't always around (with the exception of Vanishing who is almost always on) isn't enough to keep order in the servers. And hey, why not bring back someone like DN or SSD? They aren't the likes of everyone but they get done what's needed.

You are free to use this thread for the moment, but it would be better to have a new thread (I will make one soon). Rules are certainly being enforced and I am on a ton at the moment trying to keep an eye on the servers. With ladder being up longer and mostly stable I have started to alt tab for long periods though.

Even if I am in the server, if I don't respond to something, send me a PM and/or use /voteReport which will send me an e-mail. I will respond very quickly to /voteReport if I am at home.

To be clear I am not enforcing rules quite as strictly as I will be after this comes out of beta and season 1 stats. It just takes too much time away from ladder/map/video work to go back and investigate relatively minor violations. Spec chat will be enforced always but I personally do not take any action unless a player has called "spec chat". Most bans handed out now are due to spec chat or leaving during a game.

I have a very active group of admins already. I may add a couple more in the future, but don't feel much need at the moment with me or other server admins around most of the time. If you notify me of a problem (or any admin), we will handle it.

Moderating ladder will be a bit easier when I add some custom admin commands for banning as well as a web interface to manage bans.

Wow, I have no idea how I missed all of that. That is a lot of spec chat calls. And I usually read everything while I'm playing so I don't know how I missed it all (it was on illumination right?), I'll definitely watch more closely thanks for the notice slender.
