I am actually one of the biggest proponents of the rubber hull perk. I used it in ladder (on my bombers) for quite a long time. However, I think smaller planes just don't receive any great benefit from it.

Plus, biplanes D gun acts as a sot of reverse thrust anyways, so the ground can be avoided in most instanced through a combination of maneuvering and shooting.

The whale damage bonus on rubber hurts it too much to be useful imo. I'd rather just have HA.
