i would actually consider it common courtesy to show up at the originally designated time so the other team doesn't show up with 6+ and play no games the entire day

First time we played ball this season we had to wait 40 minutes to get started, this time there were no people at all.

I don't see how it's far that AK (we had 8 people ready to play) should give up their time if your team has no intention of turning up, thats the "scum" thing. It wasn't even like you were close to having minimum 5 players and we were waiting for one more to show up, did you all take a vote and decide "can't be bothered this weekend". People shouldn't have to give up their free time for that.

Also, inevitably due to holidays, if we rescheduled against you we'd be putting out a different team.

Personally I believe there should be sanctions of teams not showing up, most other leagues / organised tournaments do.

if this were a legit "league/organised tournament" in a legit game, then a joke team like the one you're in wouldn't even be allowed to play, much less qualify for the playoffs. everyone's still nice to you because "you're trying" but if you wanna go down the nofun route then we can at least stop pretending

Why are there so much rules in the first place? So we play by the rules and ppl start complaining. I think no matter how serious or legit this tournament is why even bother making rules if its more or less a 'joke'?

Common courtesy works in both ways imo, if you wont be able to show up its fine, but if you have close to like <4 ppl for sure, just send a msg before it starts to one of our players, that you might havent enough to play. And set up a deal like wait for 30min and then reschedule/forfeit. I dont care about waiting, but informing would be nice. (and its not that my time is oohh so precious :P )

We arent a serious top3 candidate i know, and im not pretending we think we are, but we tryed and almost won some games vs topclans. A different team might matter but ofc to a certain degree (depends also on the lineup of the other team). We almost placed 4th, so theres only 3 real teams and the rest is a joke? Your post doesnt show much common courtesy towards some of the clans. Also being nice just because we're 'trying' sounds rather negative/biased to me.

Without (new) teams trying there wouldnt be a league in the first place or a rather very short tourny.(I mean teams in general not our team in particular).

you're misunderstanding my post. again, i understand taking the forfeit. if ak had noshowed ball, ball wouldn't have taken the forfeit, but whatever. i can see ak's point anyway

nobody's arguing your team should be kicked out for being **** or anything. i'm just saying some of your members need to start facing reality. normally i happily go along with the courteous song&dance of trying my hardest in games vs ak. no joke perks, no fun, saying gg even though it's actually not, etc, because everyone gets a chance, right? but when you do something like this you make it clear that ak wants to neither have friendly matches nor even TRY to become a top team. if SL is nothing more to you than getting the highest sub-3 rank to feel better about yourselves (which is fair enough), then there's no reason to keep up the big charade anymore

i actually saw a group of AKs argue on the sunday that a reschedule would constitute an "advantage for ball" because you had your "best players" on. THAT's what's ****ing stupid, not the forfeit itself

Gotta love drama. Anyway my use of the word scum might of been a tad overdoing it. While I understand your reasons, and certainly understand the annoyance in having to wait (which isn't that uncommon, and I did get **** on the forums when I told BBQ we would need to reschedule), I disagree with taking a forfeit. You guys feel comfortable with it, and we differ there, no reason to say anymore.

But uhm. U maybe have right in some of this but u may have missed one thing. What i gather when i read this is that they feel that {ball} have been careless to them and their time so why should they care then about {ball}.And that this can be one of the reasons why they did this

One of {ball}'s captains should have reached out to AK and ZroG before Sunday and asked them to reschedule if we would come up short. Sorry to both teams for the inconvenience.

AK is perfectly within the rules to take the forfeit. We are obviously unhappy with that decision, but that is their prerogative, so there is nothing left to discuss.

Fortunately we don't take much notice of anything RedDragon has to say. However being a lesser player himself at least he understands the position that we find ourselves in and can relate.
