Default Patch: october 2nd, misc improvements + maps

================================================== ===============
October 2nd, 2009

added shortcut to toggle between fullscreen and windowed mode (default key binding: F3)

condensed most notifications (friend online, etc) to a single line

added "hardcore" option to server configurator and server list filter -- softcore server wall collisions are bouncier and cause less damage

added new official map tbd_locomotion by Maimer and Redshift
updated (mostly shrunk and moved spawn points) new ball maps
converted a few more BlooMoon tbd maps to ball

map editor:
added [Selection -> Mirror left/right, bottom/top]
improved transform dialog
added "straight line" helper to poly editor (hold shift to draw straight lines)

Nice to see loco as an official map, can we hope for more, grotto, for example?

I like the addition of the logo to the loading/startup screen, but it looks squashed in a corner. Maybe centre it in front of the biggest ruined building in the background.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the new black/green text boxes as friend notifications, but I guess that's because it jars with the rest of the UI too much.

Now make it so hardcore means 1-hit kills

I'd agree with both of these suggestions. Black and green does not blend at all with the rest of the color scheme.

Yeah, the new little update things don't really look good at all probably should just stick with red!

Maimer said that because of something (possibly art assets?) grotto wasn't going to be made official, so I agreed to remake it. I'm mostly done, so it'll be out soon with 100% original art

Nice, I look forward to what it's going to look like now. I hadn't heard from you since you mentioned you would do it so I wasn't sure if you were going to do it or not.

hey guys just letting you know there's still a massive problem with people getting kicked and getting back in 10 seconds later

there's one annoying guy who is called "bro" who keeps going "kick me" every 15 seconds
repetitively

eventually the vote happens, he gets booted and is back no more than 15 seconds later

something's going on - maybe you can harness this guy to patch better if you find him? I dunno...
If its any help to track him, he was playing in Proleague server #2 about 10 minutes before this was posted

Also, 2 more things:
Is it possible to eventuate into a couple more ball maps, now it has been successfully integrated into standard play? I rather enjoy them and think they are great! I know its a map-making topic but I thought I should also mention it re: the updates

Also, (i can't remember) *thinks*....

Um I think it was something to do with the difficulty of seeing the new text boxes...personally i didn't mind the originals - maybe you could have a colour scheme thing, with 3 or 4 options and when you open the game it just opens whichever image file you selected last time it was open

*I KNOW there was something else...I'll think of it sorry...

EDIT:
I remembered - the passwords on the tourney servers - might be a good idea to change them as too many players who come on to spoil it for others are getting in.
and it won't hurt to have a periodic change anyway =D

The windowed mode hotkey was a sorely-needed feature for me. Thanks!

Hmm
That's up to tec27 and we decided not to change it a few weeks ago because precisely many people who play often know the password and can play there without random level 15 guys joining and ruining the fun.
The password is there only to avoid these kind of guys and let more "serious" people play.

thanks for the info tyr

wasn't quite sure who it was up to, so guess vote kick for annoying people is still the best solution

Remember that Kuja, Maimer, Stormich and myself all have admin powers on these servers so if there's a problem we can take care of it instantly. Just call us if we're not there.

Could we get "hold shift to move sprites/objects on straight lines" for moving objects by clicking and dragging? I'm used to this from most other apps and you have this for rotating at 15 degrees, it would really help out

I really like the new notifications, but I do agree that the black and green really clashes with the rest of the UI. Perhaps keep the semitransparent small boxes bit have a red background and white lettering instead?

I know about the transform menu, I guess I just find it awkward compared to drag+shift. I'm so used to that from adobe programs -_-
