Default Question about the Share Altitude Link

I know this isn't a suggestion, but I figured you (lamster/karl) would be most likely to read this in this forum. I was wondering how the numbers were assigned to the referral link. I noticed that some people have really high numbers to their links, while others have lower numbers. Is the number assigned based on the order in which people got the game or is it just random?

I realize this has no bearing on anything, I just thought it was interesting.

The number indicates the order in which you got the game.

Oh wow so there were 4120 before me! That's kind of crazy...

With the community point system, do you have much of the information set ahead yet such as:
*"Price" of skins
*Other ideas for spending CP such as new theme music, special sounds, special perks (that would be a good way to implement these new perks everyone wants! - 150 CP for the new perk - which means you still have to get at least 5 people into the game)
*Limited edition rewards for CP - maybe like an Easter or XMAS theme, depending on the time

Also some recommendations I have are:
*Better access from the UI in the game - it took me a while to remember where the community link was as there wasn't much need for it before.
*If I hadn't noticed my tally pop up with the new update, I wouldn't know what they are. Maybe some subtle little counter in the bottom corner that displays your points only on the main screen.

But it's a great idea soon and skins alone will be a pretty good addition

Kudos, and Merry Christmas

So I guess I was the 233 person to get the game. It's funny, I know it's a low number, but when I started playing there was only like 10-20 active players. I thought I would be lower.

3422, I bought it months before the end of beta because I didnt read closely and thought I had to in order to be able to use all the planes at the time lol. Still surprised over three thousand purchases before there was even any point in purchasing, that number really sounds a little high.

don't forget you register before you purchase anyway, so its possible that a lot of accounts became inactive as people weren't a fan of the original and got rid of it after.
who knows?
=D

43, do I win?

(i know in fact that I don't, and in fact I appear to have lost 42 times including snowsickle at 20-something, TT)
Kuja it must be the order when you made your account, not purchased.

I don't think it is order of purchase but rather when you created your account. Lamster correct me if I am wrong on this, but I didn't buy the game until it was officially released. I bought it about 30 seconds after it released, so it sounds like you bought it before me kuja.

edit: I just made a test account (I know it's wrong, but I was curious). The link came out with the number: 121349

I guess that means that 121,349 people have created an altitude account O_o

Yes, generally speaking that should indicate the total number of accounts, including guest accounts, that has been created. You can't put too much faith in that number because there's been some database reorganization and there are always a bunch of "accidental" guest accounts -- e.g. you reinstall the game, click "Play Now" -- a new guest account will be created for you -- even though you immediately "Switch Users" back to your real account.

but still much Kudos to you and Karl, lammy.
Such a fantastic response for even half that number!

I've been trying to promote people on Facebook for you guys as much as I can - and to think when Blimey first showed me this i was an irritated noob who hated it!
Fantastic work

I think that is the trouble - when people first see it the inclination is to not see the depth of the gameplay - that comes later but they need to get over that initial impression.

Still would like to see xfire support With xfire you can broadcast games (which again promote the game) as well as making it easy to publish screenies and videos.
