Default How did you find Altitude?

Hey as a very old player to altitude i was curious how some of you all found out about altitude. I did a poll to make it easy of a few places, enjoy!

Very nice, i have played it since back when it was a java applet game in 2d that was a very fun multiplayer game. The new version is good too but sometimes the un-commercialized version is fun to load up. Im pretty sure i was playing back when Bebop and Protoman were, im pretty sure you were as well. Good to see some old players are still here!

looks like you managed to get teamliquid onto the poll. while you're at it you should probably add the apple.com store and the something awful forums to it, there were huge waves of people from both.

A member mentioned it on MacRumors and it looked pretty interesting, so I thought I'd try it out.

heh yeah seems not many got it from steam, im actually going to buy it from steam really soon here but i did play the original so i choose that one.

Thank you all for your votes and comments, feel free to keep them coming!

true, there probably to busy playing the game or dont realize there even is a forum. Since steam doesnt give direct links to the site from your games list they would have to independently google it to find it if im not mistaken.

Default word of mouth

or word of keyboard I guess

some dude made a comment on slashdot saying it was a great game. The topic was Linux gaming. I play on Windows and enjoy it a lot. First game I have bought in years.

I swear a huge number of people found the game from 2+2.

As a result I unofficially vote 2+2.

Owned. No other way to describe it.

In Aussie slagg we'd say our brother is our best Mate. But lo-and-behold people like Texas take it out of context and into a more horrifying viewpoint.

Anyway I now got my bro up and flying the Altitude skies - so thats a friend /mate referral

Steam.

I found it enjoyable yet I would like to see macros for communicating (e.g. Attack, Defend, Need Help, Regroup, Target their <plane type>, Target their Turrets, Good job, Good game, Back to base, Get the ball, Get the bomb, Get the powerup, Get health, Attack my Target, Go high, Go low, Go middle, Stay back, Get in Front, GoGoGo!, Be careful, Change the map, Follow, Retreat).

Last edited by Phenoca; 01-11-2010 at 05:42 AM. Reason: Lengthened the list of macros.

A friend of mine, who browsed Teamliquid, heard about it through there and played back when it was in beta and completely free. He was a massive troll and he also stopped playing soon after he introduced me, but I evidently stuck around.

This is where I was introduced to the Altitude Game. You have to admit, cheesy games don't make it to the Apple website Downloads Page, I have played it since right around December 2008 I believe.
