Altitude Patch as I see them.
This patch contains some srz buffs for the biplane. The consensus among the three people who know my screenname is that the old biplane was complete **** at the highest levels. It's insanely overpowered in ffa and tdm but who the hell plays those anyway. These buffs may very well be too extreme -- too bad. Please post your neative feedback in the battle.net forums once you've had a chance to test out the changes.
================================================== =============== June 30st, 2010 Updated graphics for tbd_core. Touching the ceiling, floor or big bomb causes death. Will fix next patch. Biplane (Dogfighter) maximum energy increased from 450 to 452. Biplane (Recoilless) secondary weapon increased range from 80 to 120, added piercing (second hit deals 99%, third 98.5%) Biplane (Heavy Cannon) increased piercing. The Prince Albert is making a comeback. Explodet (Thermobarics) reworked due to complaints. Causing stalls and changing angular momentum have both proved to frustrating. Thermobaric rockets now increase damaged player's ping. Miranda's top speed increased from 198 to 220. Miranda's maximum velocity decreased 10%. Improved missle AI. Missles used to, only occasionally, target friendly players. Missles now always target friendly players. Improved "Offline Mode" * Implemented a periodic message that calls you a loser with no friends. Added incentive for reaching Ace 100. Meet the Minerva, Spamcan, Flippy, Twinkeeguzzler, and Buyplane (only available with DLC.) New game mode added: King of the Hill. See how long you can watch this horrible show! Added friend count to friends list window. Plane HP increased 1% per friend. Fixed long-standing bug with Loopy (double fire.) Now fires 3 shots as intended. Added "Altitude Time" to bottom of in-game scoreboard (hold ALT-F4 to view.) Thinking about stopping, eh? That's what you get. Adjusted "Mouse Navigation" trigger to switch to mouse control whenever you breathe too close to your mouse. I lol'd pretty hard at these.
Also, no pebble buff? Pebble should be updated to be instant kill on contact, and fire thermo missiles out of it that pull players towards it. |

My predictions for the next patch look something like this. I think this expands on what Eso is reporting.
Loopy (all forms) has it's rockets replaced by the missile powerup. Additionally, your F key becomes glued down when you select the plane. Your Acid graphic is now replaced by a bucket of water, but the effect hasn't changed. If there are any bots in the server when you score a kill with Acid, they display the message "Ding dong, the witch is dead". Bomber (all forms) has it's grenades no longer consume energy. Also, the explosive range and damage is doubled. Suppressor and Flak cannon are now triggered for no energy cost while you afterburn. Also, when you deploy a dumb bomb, it occasionally will fly upwards mid-fall and explode on your plane instantly killing you, while the text "Don't use bad perks" shows up. Explodet's graphic is now replaced with a KFC Double Down. Director explodets now have their names censored unless the player's name is that of a famous film director. Thermo explodets now have the spin radius that they turn the plane multiplied by 20. A new sound effect plays when a thermo missile lands a hit. (EDIT: Cleaner version.) Remote mine Explodets now have a chance of the mine being a dud. This chance is inversely proportionate to the Explodet's current health and is increased the closer the ball/bomb is to your side of the map, effectively making the perk useless. Biplanes now have their weapons use 1/10th of the energy they used to. Heavy cannon is now fully automatic with 100% pierce. Dogfighter and recoilless primaries have their graphic changed to spitballs. To compensate for this, they their secondaries now have 800% more range, and a new sound clip plays when they fire. Trick and TA Mirandas no longer have to charge up their weapons. Laser Mirandas have a slightly increased charge time, however the laser now extends to the edge of the screen and is 3 times as thick. An interesting bug has been noted that automatically bans any player from Altitude for a week that makes a reference to a certain outdated internet meme while any player is playing laser.
