nice map yo. and the best part of the map is the fact that the teams are orange and green.
But I think you should split the vertical block near the goals into 2, to add more flying space.

Seems like a small map, but the placement of the obstacles prevents halfcourt shots, from what I see. Looks good, can't wait to play on it!

after a quick playthough-

pros: -great graphics/background

-i like the spawn area how you go straight down

negatives: -wayyy too much open space, especially from the top to the bottom of the map near the goal areas

-needs a better layout, and more variance in obstacles, instead of just rectangles only

The map might seem a bit long for a ball map, remember doodle... I'd say make the map a little smaller so they games won't drag on.

EDIT:
@ Radium
lol look at mayhem, lost city, dark war, and labyrinth. They still have ridiculous straight pathways to the goals but games seem better played because of the layout.

i love this map, and disagree with the long shot angle needed from low. With no long shot, there is more incentive to go high, which is good, as most action is usually low-oriented anyway.

The only thing I don't like a whole lot is how close the inner people on one team spawn to the inner people of the other team, but it's not a huge deal.

Great leayout

You bumped over my ball_pacman! QUICKLY POST IN MY THREAD!

And I agree, the map is a bit too long, but has great potential.

Quick feedback as I haven't had the chance to play it much so far.
Isn't the left part of the background a bit too dark ? Especially in this spot :

The background and the objects have very similar colors and it's hard to tell which is which before it's too late. Now my screen has a tendency to be darker than Goose's soul, but I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem. Maybe you could mirror the right part of the background to be clearer (edit : or maybe highlight the objects' borders).

Other than that, the map is great-looking and the design is rather elegant. I'll try to have it put on the arr servers but it might take some time. Keep it up !

Great map revamp, TRUEPAiN! I hope you release future updates for it. It's a lot of fun. It feels like it may be a bit too wide and sometimes parts of the obstacles blend in with the background color, but it is much improved from ball_excel!

The map is available on both Dojo servers.

EDIT: when i played it in game the triangle showed up, you probably fixed or the picture clarity was not great.....

EDIT 2....After a couple of rounds of playing i really really think that this map has very good potential. The game play (clearing wise) would seem to work because the corners of the map near the goals are curved so the ball will move itself back out to the middle. Same as the top but there is a little indent there which i recommend getting straightened out for when people do pass off surfaces the ball will bounce in a different direction. in the middle of the map it seems like too much of a spam fest would happen while the randas are hiding in the three squares. i would look the rectangle'd objects on mayhem2 in its center. that may or may not sort of control a little of spawn spam from both sides. The bottom of the map seems great! Although, since there is too much gunfire from the top i'd think that the bottom would get possibly over played.... i think the ball spawn location should be in the middle of the planes on front so getting the ball would be fair for nearly all planes on the team. The spawn locations for the panes could be pretty close from the enemies and might want to be pushed back a bit away from each other. (looking at other maps spawns...) For the Defense: i dont have much on the explodets or how they will be able to defend the large amount area to cover, i will research that much more later. I am putting a lot of input in this map becuase i see a lot of potential for this map - i hope nobo puts this in the ball ladder servers ( after some updates of course) mainly i see that this map will have a bit more fluid gameplay than other ball maps

The map objects themselves look fine, but the borders of said objects are made of rather jagged pixels, which caught my eye almost immediately.

What program are you using for the graphics? Most have a function (either built-in or maybe downloadable) that allows you to smooth out such things automatically.

Yes, i also noticed the border of the objects were not that crisp when playing around on the map.

Photoshop CS2, I've been meaning to research how to get my obstacles looking smooth..

Much input, I appreciate it all. It'll take some time before I touch the map again, but have a pretty good idea of where I'm going to take it. Thank you all!

PS: Someone help me with smoothing out my images

I'm not familiar with Photoshop, sorry. I've been using paint.net, and it has a downloadable plug-in called "AA's Object Assistant" which auto-smooths borders.

the map looks really good, i played it once and i think there was something wrong with the scaling? Looks worthy to be tested for official and bladder!

I think the whol middle (horizontally) needs maybe something to fill in all the empty space? possibly?

Maybe a powerup in the lower middle or upper middle, to balance out the powerups more and easier to get.

graphics look awesome, no comment there

some good shapes, unique and stuff, wish i could think of that kind of stuff

Maybe make the walls/shapes right above and below the goal, longer with a longer curve, so the ball could be knocked up it more, and cleared with it... more strategy?

I dont think the spikes on the wall, all the way to the right or left, are good for the game... because if someone is top, and they "s" the ball, and the ball follows the wall, the ball will just fall right infront of the goal... maybe add move them lower, below the goal instead of on top of the goal

change the colors of the graphics? nahhhh nevermind they look good, i had an idea with green and yellow, and splitting the map into 3 colors, green, blue (neutral), yellow, or blue (left team), green (neutral), yellow (right team)

My first thoughts after one ladder test:

Too big, the backing for the goal is too big, the bottom route is to protected.
