Likes:
1. Love graphics esp. the waterfall. I would start working more on a 3Dish look for the rocks like in tbd_cave and tbd_underpark.

Dislikes:
1. The map seems small and doesn't look like much room to play. What size did you use for the map? But then again it might also be my eyes decieving me haha.
2. Way too many turrets close to the base in my opinion, but that depends on the range of the turrets too.
3. The bottom route and top rout seem pretty hard to bomb on without a good enough full push, but idk.

I will have to try this map out to see. These were just my opinions before playing it. I'm not sure if there is a background with it or unless you just had it turned off. If you don't mind I have been looking for some help with my graphics for some of my other maps. If you would like to help me I would really appreciate it. Just send me a PM or add me ingame.

Question : Can you fly through the leaves? If so, good, if not, then you should be able to. Like Gene said, this is a rather small map, but I don't think that is a bad thing in and of itself. I like the graphics, there's a very charming simplicity to them. Have to fly it to make any permanent judgments, but it looks like those two powerups in the top-mid need to be opened up a bit more. The curling terrain around them looks like and unnecessary hassle.

Overall, good first effort!

The two curvy narrow background images in the bottom left and right of the map I feel should be made more clear that they are in fact background images. They look a bit similar to the other walls and I was having trouble figuring out which was which when I took a test run of the map.

I am not a map maker myself but if there was anyway to stretch the map vertically, just so that there was more overall flying room, that would be great too.

Overall though, I was impressed with the graphics and the simplicity of the map. Well done.

I've played on this map and it makes for pretty good gameplay. Congrats, I like it a lot. My only suggestions would be
1) Less turrets in the middle route to the base
2) Maybe drop the base a bit lower so that the bottom route is more viable?

Hey!

I'm happy to see that someone is trying to make a new TBD map! (There have only been balls in the Map Making section lately o.0)

The map feels quite good, when flying around with 2 bots in map editor... not sure, how it would be, when there are 14 players. Probably a bit crowded. With these narrow corridors Randas will have an advantage over other planes.

You definitely need to make more spawn points for the planes and probably make more room to fly around the base, otherwise you will see lots of crashes at the start of the game.

And also, do something about the rock colors at the bottom, to make it more visible, where you can fly through and where you can not (make the background image brighter or something).

And maybe move some of the power-ups to the bottom part of the map (they seem clustered at one section of the map atm)

Will be waiting for the updated version of the map

lol I already made graphics for this map because I liked it so much. Do you want me to continue to improve them with your consent or do you hate them and you want to do it yourself?

Here's what I got anyway:

P.s I despise the tree I made and yes I do want to make it different. I was gonna do that but then I saw this topic

And did anybody notice this map has 3 hidden smileys?

The water should be in a top layer with transparency, so the planes would pass behind it.

Photoshop and SUCH

Btw I've got a feeling you're gonna ruin the gameplay by making it bigger and different

If you do so I will totally improve the current version by myself.

You ask for tips.
1. Use a (Wacom) draw tablet.
2. First draw rough lines (sketch).
3. Draw strokes, pick brush size of 4-7.
4. Fill the whole image.
5. Pick a lighter color and fill the inner part.
6. Pick a darker color (darker than the color you choose in step 4). Fill the part that less or no light.

For making sharp lines, simply using the eraser.
Give collision part a thicker stroke.

The don'ts
1. Do not use Blender mode options like Bevel and Emboss, Gradient overlay
2. Avoid using gradients.

A good logo speaks for itself, meaning, you look at it and you get the idea, the feel, of what it stands for. - Graphic design, solves graphic problems.
I have no clue on what "Keesdegroot" means and graphics didnt helped me getting anywhere!
Maybe its just a name, or maybe it has no meaning. If thats the case, then i would say your 1st logo its most related to "our game". Its camo, its army, its war.
Your 2nd its no more than a photoshop efect aplied on lettering. Any designer would consider it bad just because of that.
When making a logo you have to keep it as simple as possible. Reducing it to a VERY small size and see if it still reads its essential -> Legibility its extremely important. -> Your logo over a work must be small/discrete. Its the work that is important not who made it. If the work is good, people whe are interested will better search on who made it.
You also have to consider the fact that its gona be over diferent types of backgrounds. Gradients, intrincate shapes, flat shapes, diferent colours... imagine all possibilities. Of course you can always put it over a rectangule but, do you want to?
Your logo must also work in black and white.

I tried to be constructive because i understood you're new to these issues. Hope you didnt took it wrong!

About graphic tablets, i just want to say that the mentioned "WACOM" tablets are great but very expensive. There are other solutions way less expensive! I can only speak for the one i use so, google for AIPTEK tablets - quarter of the price and super thin.

i dont understand the whole thing but... my logo does work on white and black cuz of the black thing around the texture. keesdegroot doesnt mean anything its just my ingame name. should i perhaps make the texture shorter, like KdG? the only problem than is that you might not see that i made it... and which one is better, the fire texture or the army 1

I'll translate:

Jij vraagt om tips:
1. Gebruik een (Wacom) draw tablet. (dit is zegmaar zo'n ding)
2. Maak eerst een schets

1. Blender options zoals bevel, emboss of gradient overlay gebruiken
2. Vermijd gradients
