April Fool's! Season 2 isn't coming for another week.

In the meantime, however, the ladder administration staff has decided to implement a couple of the new changes coming in season 2 a bit early to give ladder frequenters a taste of what's to come. This new ladder system is more sleek, organized, and is perfectly tuned for the optimum ladder experience. We hope you will enjoy these changes as much as we will.

First and foremost, there are going to be some slight modifications to the current ladder map pool. We feel that the average length of ladder games is too short for the games to really have a meaningful impact on our daily lives, so we are doing away with silly maps like ball_planepark, ball_darkwar, tbd_cave, and tbd_asteroids. Many top-notch players that will remain anonymous have complained that they are not having fun on those maps anyway, and we are too busy deep frying hot pockets and other delectables to question them.

The changes are as follows:

All ball ladder maps are to be removed and replaced with ball_doodle.
All tbd ladder maps are to be removed and replaced with tbd_newgrasslands2.

We spent much more effort than you know setting up this map pool - map after map was meticulously pored over by our analysts that we "hired" in front of a Home Depot and we finally trimmed down the list to the maps that we feel are the most appropriate for a super competitive setting.

In addition, we are implementing a major rule change that spawned from the recent discussion regarding reverse thrust and its applicable uses. You asked, we listened, and we are adding a new rule:

Use of blue perks other than reverse thrust are strictly forbidden.

This rule goes into effect immediately and failure to adhere to this rule will result in a ban from ladder.

Finally, we would like to introduce a handful of new ladder admins to our brotherhood. Please give a huge warm welcome to panic le oink, sky, and Lethal Weasel!

Thank you for sticking with us through the monotonous months of an imperfect ladder, hopefully these new changes will make up for the wasted time and effort. We understand that there will be some confusion during the season-changing process, but we ask that you bear with us for the time being.
