A brief look at the top 15 players with my thoughts, comments, and reactions to their shenanigans...

(1) {ball}{PM}shmo55[PR]

No surprise here, shmo starts right where he left off at the end of the season, making everyone else look terrible.

(2) [FRO]Dragon

I kinda thought Dragon sucked at ball and was too high all the time to ever do anything useful, but I guess he's doing something right!

(3) ///tVo.bummeln

Mild surprise, to be honest. I knew bummeln was good, but I didn't expect him to be the top-ranked whale. He's held his ground in the rankings quite well for the first two weeks and it will be interesting to see if he can keep it up.

(4) |VI!CIV|iC (tmic)

I don't get the name, but I do get that tmic is silly good. I've seen him winning games single-handedly left and right. In unrelated news, authorities continue to search for the person responsible for the theft of LeKai's spell book.

(5) IL| {ball}'n

Not surprising. What is surprising, however, is his steadfast refusal to merge with AH.

(6) [NLD]Tominator

For anyone with a clue, tominator being better than the rest of us comes as no shock at all. Dude's good.

(7) BaDxHoMeR11

I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

(8) tVaLminator (valandil)

Another one of those Scandinavian people who is really good Editor's note: I stand by the belief that val is from somewhere cooler than France (get it, cooler? cuz Scandinavia is like, stereotyped as cold).

(9) {WoR}rookie

He knows how to use the name change function. What else do you need, really? Lock this one up for rookie of the year. Wings of Rage should be proud.

(10) ///tVo.FrozenInferno

Fourth ///tVo in the top ten, not too shabby. You're all still runner-ups to shmo, though! ZZZZING!

(11) Fart's Fatty

No idea how he's in the top 15. I honestly thought he was a certified ritard. I think he plays time anchor, but I think he's better at explodet. Who knows with these Rainman types. I've been wrong before, though!

(12) mikesol (elixir)

So suave, so graceful. Originally started this season with the intent to troll ladder via a well thought out perk combo of Director, HA, and Reverse Thrust, elixir has instead decided to troll ladder by being better than everyone else. It's a bold strategy!

(13) {ball} Syphun

Another player who didn't really ladder much in the past but is obviously still better than basically everyone. Third highest ranked whale. First highest ranked whale in our hearts.

(14) [PR]=Pata=[FRA]

lolFrance, seriously now. He's pretty good and doesn't afraid of anything, which makes me suspect his birth certificate and papers are likely forgeries. Probably kidnapped at birth from a much tougher, cooler country, like Germany or somewhere in Scandinavia.

(15) {ballFRO]shrode

With the most awe inspiring name in the inaugural top 15, shrode has stepped outside the bounds of conventional clan tagging and instead has made us all ask the hard questions: what exactly would a ballfro be like? Would they like it? Would it be uncomfortable? Nobody knows...

Notes and other hubbub from this top 15:

- Most of these peeps are mirandas. No, miranda is not overpowered. It's been beaten so hard with the nerf-bat that it breaks into tears every time someone asks it to play wiffle ball. You just have no defensive discipline.

- The new team randomizer is straight BALLER. Instead of butt-humping the better players and forcing them to carry the trash of ladder to victory, it has now placed the onus on the crap players. If they ever want to gain points, they actually have to help the team more than the other teams crap players help their team. A shocking turn of events.

- RIP sinstar. Your whoring can never be replaced. Not even by XX "what ball?" 2.

I agree that the new teaming system is better in some ways and worse in others, and I think that's part of the reason why not everyone in the top 15 are ball-carriers. I still think it's ridiculous that some people *coughomercough* can still be in the top ten, but whatevs. I'm just happy that I didn't drop too many points after being in the mid 20s before yesterday where I went like 4-13, all because I kept getting people on my team who were over and underrated (if you don't believe me check my ladder rating, I was only dropping around 20 points for a loss and gaining 30 for a win)

Homer knows how to position himself to score, something that 99% of people, myself included, don't understand how to do, and does it better than most people who do. Then again, I'm a whale, so I don't think that comes as any surprise that I cant.

In homers defense and to agree with DDP homer has been one of my much more favorable receivers cause he knows where to be in the lanes and how to adjust slightly to catch the passes, with out breaking course or crashing like a retard.

sigh... ofc sarcasm doesn't work on the internets. I'll go edit it so it makes more sense. I was trying to say how I thought it was funny andy singled out homer in the post, oh well. He is a good goal scorer/ball carrier (better than most randas/loopys in ladder) but I don't think he's the best either. And elix goals aren't everything, plus it's hard to score when you can't even play your main.

I ate the top 15 alive today. Was starting to get as much as 75 for a win, but then I had to go to work. My streak was broken because some asshat voted for grotto and I speced but ladder still put me in the game. Pissed about that.

good defensive players should get up in the ladder theory crafting wise, as long as they have a decent scorer on their team, so I guess it's got to wait for the scorers to balance at the top.

emp loopies are the best plane in ball by far. the problem is that plenty of loopies play their loopy like they would play a randa - in this case, they should obviously play randa. emp rapes the **** out of everything, and all the top loopies abuse it: see val, MJ, vip, andy, lix, goova, etc. the top 15 just isn't stacked with loopies because the top loopies have either been not playing or playing different planes.

at first i was convinced that bad homer would be way better off using emp than biplane because emp outclasses it in basically everything, but i'm not so sure anymore. he's basically playing tight end in his HA bip while all the other lights are busy playing wide receiver. since people in ladder are terrible at aiming and killing enemy planes near the enemy goal, he just gets the ball at the enemy's third of the map and flies straight in. emp doesn't **** with his **** since he doesn't turn, so it's ezpz. he also doesn't **** up easy shots and makes some pretty good shots at a range, so basically he's a product of the ****ty playing level of ladder. no idea if he'll be any good in league since he literally does not do anything but score goals, but in ladder he wrecks ****.
