Wow! Way to include context! Also, the detail and sincerity with which you wrote that made me REALLY believe you meant it...

The people who this is addressed to know the context. Also, my bad, I forgot to include my [SINCERE][/SINCERE] brackets, I'll do that next time.

When making a public apologyANY sincere apology, one includes context. Willingness to face the shame of admitting one's actions, in context, in public, and apologize for it shows sincerity. As your post stands, you may as well have just as effectively IM'd them in game and said "I sowwy". Same level of sincerity.

Proper public apologies are well thought out and thorough.

Difference. I lost a ladder game by mistiming a bomb drop. You were an absolute tw*t and cheated deliberately, this is not a massive apology for some heinous wrongdoing, its me saying, "soz".

So you make a thread just for mistiming a bomb drop, only include those names in hope they will remember that one moment in probably many ladder games that they played with you that day? Then when Jrath just tries to tell you that making a public apology requires details (as I am sure from your post he did not know exactly what you did or how severe the action was that you did), you make a smart ass comment back instead of just saying what happened in the first place and explained why you just didn't IM them in game.

You made a public post in a public forum. Any post in the alty forums is addressed to EVERYONE.

This itty bitty "apology" has no business on the forums except in a PM. Your best course of action is to say "Wow, Jrath! You've made a good point and I'll be sure to keep private matters private in the future. "
