SL4 playoffs format discussion

3 options:

- double elimination bo3 with bo5 finals
- double elimination bo5 with bo7 finals
- single elimination bo5 with bo7 finals

discuss.

Also im going away on the 20th so we only have two more weeks to get this done (since no one else is helping with this SL) or at least leave only the finals to do on the 24th.

both decreases the variance of underdogs winning this **** out of pure luck and gives teams time to get players on that are missing for the first games of the day.

A couple things to consider:

How many teams are going to be in the playoffs?

How many matches do you expect to get done in a week?
If you're expecting to get more than 2 bo5 matches done on a Sunday I highly doubt it will be done in 1 week. Keep in mind we've been struggling to get 2 bo3 matches done in a skyleague.

We could start first few games this week if its not a problem for everyone..

- 8 teams go to playoffs seeded as the season standings.

I think starting this week is near impossible.

Two days notice and a lot of teams need to make up matches.

i think saying there will be matches tomorrow is a scooch late, my cherubs need at least two days to figure out how to turn on their computers

We could try, ill send off the schedule as soon as all games end and if teams are still on and want to play they can do it.

About play-off format: I agree with Ingbo, and I choose double elimintaion with bo3 and bo5.

I'm telling you in advance that FC will not be able to show up tomorrow as we don't have any more regular season matches left to play, so we won't be online.
