Default F-117 (New Thread)

Retired
This clan is now retired. Most of our members have moved on to new clans, and we have been inactive for quite some time, so I'm calling it.

The Clan

The clan was started in July last year (2011) by grogdan and has slowly started to recruit new members since then.
We are a Ball clan, mostly playing on the Football map, and are interested in playing some scrims. Please see below for contact info.

Forum
Our official forum, designed by ZomBeastie, is located at http://f-117.altitudeclan.org.

Scrimmage

If you wish to challenge us, please contact either grogdan or AmateurLobster in game.
Our preference is to play 2 ball_football games and 2 maps of your choice.
You may also leave a message in this thread if you can't find us.

Server

F-117 Public Football [US]: 208.122.48.210:27276
24/7 10min/game ball_football
We hope this server becomes the default football server for US based players.
Please add us to your favorites.

Ventrilo
We now have a ventrilo voice server to communicate during matches.
64.34.202.140:4264
pass: bacon

(Most clans seem to have this, but we don't have to use it. I myself have a weird accent, so I can understand if people dont wish to use it )

Training

We will start weekly training sessions soon.
It will be a casual get together of the team at a set time each week, where members can just show up and we practice playing as a team.

New member info

Members should follow a few basic rules:
  • Please be courteous to other members and other players
  • Sign up to the mailing list on our official forum to receive scrim announcements, etc
  • Please keep trash talk to a minimum
  • Please add grogdan and AmateurLobster as friends, as we are loners.
  • Please populate the F-117 server
  • Don't have an offensive name

Clan Objectives
  • Simply we want to be a decent clan whose members can be proud to be a part of
  • We understand that this is a game, and the purpose is to enjoy it
  • We wish to take part in friendly scrims and tournaments
  • No member is forced to take part in scrim, they may represent clan in regular games
  • We wish to spot talented people and help them improve
  • We want to dominate ball_football

I just wrote these myself without consulting the membership, so if you have any comments at all please say so in the comments. They are not set in stone and I can easily add/remove 'rules'

Sounds like a good idea. {DB} have some kind of forum, but I don't know what they do with it.

Scrim Report

Sunday, Sep 4th, 7.30pm altitude time against the mighty {DB}.
12.30pm PDT, 3.30pm EDT, 8.30pm BST, 9.30pm CEST, 10.30pm EEST, 11.30pm MSD

Thx to the following for coming to our first scrim

30RUS, 555, A Power Ranger, CaptainJack, Doctor_Deekay, Ep!C-D4nm3D, Hapkido, rainer6, Shattered, and ZomBeastie

I invited as many as I could find, since I didn't know how many would actually turn up, so sorry if you didn't get to plan all the games.

I think it's fair to say that we were well beaten by {DB}, but we will learn from this and return stronger.

New clan member checking in. Thanks for the invite, and good game today!

Now I need to learn some new tactics - previously my game was based on killing the people with clan tags first...

Quite a squad you're getting together here!
If you're looking for your next scrim, how about challenging SMILE? We don't mind a bit of ball_football either

Contact [x YING x] or [x YANG x] in-game, or message TheJoker on the forum if you want to set something up.

Our thread is here:

Default Football World Cup

So some of you may have seen the post here about a ball_football tournament I am organizing.

A major reason for this is to give F-117 a tournament to compete in.

So its on Sunday Oct 2nd at 7pm GMT (see that thread for some timezone conversions) lasting about 2 hrs is my guess.
We'll need a team of at least 7 people who can definitely make it.

Normally for scrims I think its fair that anyone who shows up gets at least a game, but for this it would be best to have a settled team.

Since we have such a large clan with so many good players, its extremely difficult to pick a team. Informing this decision is the strategic choice of what planes to start with. Also who will be available to play, of course.

So what I propose is to run a training session the weekend before, to see how people play with one another. I'll announce day and time in 2nd post of this thread. If you can't make it to this but can make it to the tournament and want to be considered, please let me know.

Please post below if you can make it.

Default Altitute Football World Cup

Thanks to everyone who played today.
We got hammered by most teams but it was good to see what level they are at. Also our mix of planes wasn't ideal and of course I didnt play

So I'll try and schedule more scrims so we can improve.

I wanted a project to try some new software, so I put one together. Screenshots here:

http://www.abload.de/gallery.php?key=yO4L0zEH

(might need to click "Nur das Bild anzeigen" for full resolution)

It needs some graphics work, but it's functional. Anyone think of anything else it needs?

It's running on my private test server at the moment. If we want to have a clan website all we need is hosting (I can probably manage this, but if someone else has a webserver that would be great) and a domain name.

Default Scrim

We will play a scrimmage against F-16 this sunday, details in 2nd post.
We played them once informally and once in the tournament. Both times were close games.

We have scrim against [x SMILE x] next Sunday at 7pm Alt. Time. See 2nd post for more details.

Note that clocks go back an hour in most of Europe that morning, whereas they change in most of the US a week later, so be careful getting the time right.

Hi all,

I have just realized I cannot make the scrim on Sunday. Unfortunately grogdan can't make it on sundays, so I'm looking for a volunteer to tell people about the scrim and organize the team on sunday.

Added to this my macbookpro has some problems and is being repaired. I hope to get it back tomorrow, but until then I cant get online to talk to anyone.

Joker said [Smile] has delayed to next week (Sunday November 6, 7PM Altitude time) because of time zone mix-ups. (?)

I'm new to all of this, but as far as I know Joker sets-up scrims for Smile, and when I saw him playing a couple hours ago he said next week instead of this week, because of clock change confusion.

Edit, new list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...W9YYm1WYWxpX3c

Ok guys, we rearranged the [x SMILE x] game for next sunday at 7pm alt. time. See second post for other timezones.

We will hopefully replay {DB} on saturday too.

I saw this thread, and saw that you have quite a bunch of players. Having lots of player is good, definitely. However not all of them are at the same pace as each other and not all of them are going to get to play. Just a though but I suggest creating a subwing of this clan as an academy of some sort like other clans have done of which they get better and eventually move into the main clan.

Anywho, it's a good idea to implement if you want your players to be near enough on the same pace in improving and it can get rid of quite a few inactive players for you.

As in it should be 11:13, but its 10:13.

Will this affect the time of our game?
