This is one of the better new maps i've played.
Lots of fun and interesting gameplay opportunities exist, as i told my wife "i like the bottom". |

nice little map with decent obstacle layout -- has a bit of a ball_cave feel
I would like to see how she does in a 6v6 ladder match. |

Nice work, Nikon. It plays really well and has some nice options for faking out opponents.
Love the falling rocks, too.

Limited play without real opponents suggest that this map is awesome.

I enjoyed it as well playing against bots. Regarding center main rock, what are your thoughts on having either the powerup below it instead of above or no powerup at all?

Uh, the powerup directly above that oval central rock is the ball... The one at the very top is a powerup.

Ah! Sorry, forgot that when I was commenting. Ignore me; powerup placement is excellent, including the force to use the very bottom.

Yeah that makes more sense, thank you.

Have enjoyed the look and feel of this in recent games, glad to see you putting your tablet to good use Nikon!
Although I like your other maps I think you have gotten a better map dimensioning here, as mentioned before it feels a little like cave (my all time favourite map) and isn't too "tall" so it forces some good gameplay. Keep up the good work! |

I agree that I've gotten a better understanding of how maps should work. With a whole lot of trial and error with the past few maps, this one really followed through. With a lot of hard work I got some of the best graphics I've made to date, and also one of the best layouts I've made. Also, Cave is one of my favorite maps and I really wanted to make this map more closed that previous ones. Kinda like cave. |

I like this map too, it's a nice cave alternative with enough differences to warrant a separate map. Also noticed it discourages moving the ball on the floor with all the bumps along there. Any specific rationale for that? Also, tons of shooting opportunities on this with the one real notable exception being from the bottom after you pass the gap in those two rocks

Just from looking at it, that middle straight shot to the goal irritates me. Might just be my thinking as a whale, but that gives virtually 0 coverage for defense.

no worse than the shot on cave or PP

cave is easy to defend because of the obstacles leading up to the goal though. and planepark has that one round thing and the choke points that are easy to spam.
lolwat? I'm just saying it looks like a common route is going to be straight towards the goal and not break up around these obstacles. meaning the whale is out in the open. still haven't played it, just initial thoughts. |

Nikon any chance you can make your maps have slightly straighter edges?
While this doesn't effect TBD maps it has a huge impact on ball maps, your maps at the moment don't have any... This means self passes are risky and bounce shots are unpredictable and practically impossible to intentionally pull off. Your maps are the first official ball maps that do not have any flat surfaces, imo that sucks (speaking as a biased mouse baller )

From earlier: those double bottom 3 rock formations are hilariously whale biased. Also that lower corridor is awfully tight. Those are my 2 suggestions.

I don't think it's great to have totally uniform map designs - especially given how joke-mode aiming with a mouse is. |

Guessing their argument would be: if mouse was so easy, why don't you use it?

Just played a really good game on this map with some AIR Vlix and Smilers. I actually really like this map. Better than ball_reef imo, possibly better than ball_skylands too. It plays really well.

Only tweaks i think might be interesting are to the two rocks at each upper corner. It seems to me the chutes above them dont get much use so that corner area is kind of wasted. Other than that, great map.
I really like the triple small-rock cluster near bottom in front of the bases. It's like a plane scrambler where you can take some quick turns to avoid dying on a scoring run. |

+1 Great Map, Nikon. Have enjoyed this one.
Found two good trick shots using the upper corner tunnels... they never see it coming... Bottom route is tough enough to prevent run-aways, and the long lower shot is an easy goal. (may want to block that up for ladder use) |
