In the three indie bundles before this one, they have sold between 25,000-45,000 copies of the bundle.

Can we please be on good behavior if bad new players come into ladder?

Except if they're dicks first. But that's almost never the case. I want new people to be playing D:

I'll gladly help out new players who want to get competitive if they have a good attitude.

However, I reserve the right to rage in ladder if they clearly aren't ready to play at that level >.>

Hi, recently picked up the indiegala and shocked to find out I used to play this game like years ago, I wanna say like 8+ years? I don't know my memory is bad but I remember it being alot less pretty and having snoopy on a doghouse. I think I heard about it on the SA forums.

anyways, really loved the tutorial parts, felt confident I haven't lost "it" (I had) and then I get into a game, well a couple games, and teams are just stacked.. I've seen a couple other newbies out there but I wish there was more balance because it was like 60s on the left, 10s on the right. people wont be sticking around if they are getting steamrolled.

Pub teams are semi random. Ladder has a pretty good balance system if you play to the point that you decide to play there.

I do think that a lot of things could be done to help retain new users. New people's first experiences with Altitude now-a-days are usually in Football servers and the noob servers which run dumbed down maps. These lack the gameplay qualities that would appeal more to hardcore gamers that you see in Ladder and Dojo after you've hit level 60.

The meat of this game is in the higher level competitive play, and new players don't really get a glimpse of that.

Ladder is community run, but I think building some functionality like a button or something in the menus which would send you to the ladder servers would go a long way to helping people realize that there's more to the game than what you're initially seeing.

Welcome to Altitude!

We're mostly a cool bunch of people, except if you come into the ladder server and aren't willing to change your plane if people on your team ask you to change. Or if you are relatively bad and are playing with certain people in ladder. Otherwise, this community (and game) is super kawaii and nice.

Thanks, I'm really enjoying the game, even when I am getting owned. I've had some good games which is nice. Can't wait to unlock the biplane. Indiegala is one of the better indie bundles but it would have really been awesome if altitude got into the humble bundle. I saw the map editor, going to try my hand at creating a map

Most maps are created in a image editor of choice (such as GIMP or Photoshop), saved as a PNG and uses the map editor's feature "Import large PNG" to load in each of the map's layers. Note that your wall layer needs to be separate from the other layers. Good luck Joe.

Yes you can. Granted you'll have bad ping but there are a few other people from Asia that play on here and people don't mind.

But besides US servers, there are European servers where you will most likely have better ping.
