Default <Vlix> servers

'ey.

Now that AIR is unofficially dead, it's time for <Vlix> to take over!
Now presenting 4 servers:

<Vlix> public ball
5v5 experimental tbd
<Vlix> private 1 (ball&tbd)
<Vlix> private 2 (ball&tbd)

Both public servers have expert bots. The map rotation is same as in ladder.
Despite its name, the tbd server is a 5v5 server.

Both private servers have a 40 player cap and have both ball AND tbd maps. Servers open for everyone for scrimmin'!

pw for privates: euro

If you want Your map uploaded on the public server, poke around and I'll see if I can be arsed to do so.

Update: added ball_canopy, go check it out and give feedback once the thread for it opens up!
I also tweaked the bot settings on the servers. Now the bots will fill all of the open slots until the 5v5 (or 6v6 in ball) teams are reached.

Do you prefer this or the conventional system where bots stop filling the spots once there are 6+ players?
(bots have and always will balance the teams)

The idea behind this was that there would be more "players" to play aggainst when filling up the server.

Thoughts?

Just like Dojo, seems fair enough. Put them on expert difficulty, make people feel like they're playing against real players.

After playing on your Vlix public ball server for a couple hours, I am strongly opposed to the bots filling in. It got to a point where half our team was bots (3 players, 3 bots), and we really couldn't formulate any sort of offense. The fact that you have to position yourself directly in front of the bot to get it to pass was very aggravating. Their one dimensional play is not very conducive to a fun or smooth game. With 6 or 7 players on the server, I much rather prefer 3v3 or 4v4 (only one bot need fill in here). Just my opinion, but having 2+ bots on a team puts that team at an immediate disadvantage.

Update:
  • Updated ball_canopy
  • Tweaked the bot options on ball server. The bots will now fill the teams up to 3v3.

<Vlix> will be using the private 1 for our SL matches. If there happens to be someone when we have a match, they will be kicked out.

Mind you, in case we're to change servers for our third game, we will be using the private 1.

Prefer the Vlix private 2, smile private 2 or the euroladders over private 1.

Update:
  • Added the new ladder rotation maps
  • Changed the rotations on the pubs. The rotations are now the same as in ladder miss doodle.
  • Removed the "new player easy maps" from the tbd server rotation
