hello friends!

as last year's league champion, i would like to mention that i have officially renewed last year's league, and email invitations have been sent to everyone who participated in the main league. if you were in and didn't get the invite or need a new one, PM me your email and i'll ship you a new one. spot priority is given to returning owners, sign ups for the remaining spots can go in this thread, first come first serve.

i'm also considering expanding the league to possibly 16 teams and then making it an auction so the first pick doesn't have a huge advantage, thoughts? overall the draft will take longer and it will probably be harder to get everyone on with more people, but it could be a lot of fun. if we'd rather just do the usual 12 man snake draft i'm cool with that too.

i think the points awarded for stats were really good last season without the bonuses we had in 2011, not sure if we would have to adjust anything in a 16-team if there's a lack of qbs or something.

we lowered the passing td to 4 from 6 last season didnt we? i like how it stands now.

I think the 16 teams would be a lot of fun, something new and would really force people to have to reach for depth.

did a 14 team league once and it got pretty loldeep so idk how 16 would work out, am okay with trying tho. also did my first auction last year and was fun, so i'm down with that. it doesn't go as long as one might think too.

the only people that haven't accepted are MJ, QUEEN ZOE, and spart. i feel like spart will probably eventually accept, not sure if MJ is too busy with fiancee stuff to play and zoe is a complete wild card. if one of those spots is available and maverick wants to play he gets to be in for sure, after that the list goes strato/guava/shrode.

i was thinking about running 2 leagues (one draft one auction) if there's enough interest maybe?

In a competitive league, almost every team has a weakness. It's almost impossible to build a team that is strong at all three core positions (quarterback, running back and wide receiver). As you probably suspect, we perceive your weakness to be at the quarterback position. Of all the deficiencies to have though, this is usually the easiest one to mask.

Footballguys owner David Dodds even recommends you go into your draft with the goal of landing the top RBs and WRs while waiting to grab QBs late. Value-Based Drafting principles also suggest that teams constructed in this manner end up being strong. But for this team to reach it's full potential, you might need to have a quick trigger finger at the QB position and stay on the look out for good quarterback help. Last year Russell Wilson and Andrew Luck could be had very cheap in August and September, but ended up contributing to a lot of fantasy championships. In 2011 it was Cam Newton; in 2010 it was Michael Vick and Josh Freeman; in 2008, the same could be said of players like Aaron Rodgers, Kurt Warner, and Matt Cassel. Quarterbacks like these can be found every year, and that could be the key to your team's success.

So although this team isn't perfect (few are), we still see it as an above average team.

Players we particularly like on this team include Jason Witten, Vincent Brown, Shane Vereen, and David Wilson. We have all these guys ranked ahead of where they are typically being drafted.

Bottom line:
With great inseason management, we think you have about a 85 percent chance of making the playoffs.
With good inseason management, we think you have about a 80 percent chance of making the playoffs.
With average inseason management, we think you have a 68 percent chance of making the playoffs.
