Default Ball_Cloud

Ball_Cloud

I humbly present Ball_Cloud

Download
Filesize: 0.345 MB
(Updated 1/12/16)
Also available for download on my new server: Oyster's Altitude

Updated after getting some player feedback: Move the spawns slightly closer to the center (so randas could reach the center ball in three warps), opened up the spawn area a little bit by combining it with the natural dip up on the ceiling, widened the gap behind the spawn and above the balloon, slightly condensed the width of the map, added kill objects to prevent warpthroughs on the back wall, darkened the background a little, did minor reshapes on some of the odd angles on the clouds

------------------------------

Older version

As you may notice, this map is heavily inspired from the most popular map of all time, ball_asteroids.

There are a few changes, enough to make the map play slightly different, however it feels comfortingly familiar at the same time.

My goal in making this map was to create something that might eventually see ladder and SL play.

All powerups are wall/shield/missle, except the powerups tucked in the bottom left/right corners which are health only.

Comments/suggestions are welcome, as always.

Thank you all for looking

I like the asthetics, the "crystal" shading looks cool. I can't really see anything wrong on this map, nice job Oyster!

Are the passages at the top (highlighted) big enough for some/all planes?

They're big enough for all planes, though it will take a talented pilot to pull it off under pressure

Very nice, the screenshot doesn't do it justice. I put it up on Map QA so people could try it out. It really is very nice looking at full size. I think it will be a fast favorite if it plays the way I think i will. People really should play it and review for possible league and ladder inclusion.

Also, the angles near the goals make for some amazing passing opportunities. I only played once and I found 5 ways I could reliably get the ball to my striker from above or below the goal.
