My first attempt at a race map.
I dont know what is needed as far as markers for checkpoints, so I'll leave that up to whomever knows what to do.

The design is inspired by the GBA Mario Kart track, Shy Guy Beach. I've added a few twists and obstacles to make it applicable for Altitude.

In my testing, I've completed the map with every plane, at least 3 laps without dying. It's very challenging to get a good time. Pilots are forced to slow down on the turns and speed up on the straight aways.

On a 1-10 scale of difficulty, I give it:
Biplane/Loopy - 6
Miranda/Bomber - 6.5
Explodet - 8.5

Also, unfortunately, due to the way I made the track, /para true is required. There are no visible objects on the game layer.

i just had a dejavu' of me playing this map on mario cart with the old good ps2!

Map looks great, maybe a bit too easy, but havnt tested it yet! The graphic and coloors looks awesome.
Where can i test it?

toma you can download it and put it on your maps folder i think then go to skirmish and play it i think again. And Oyster gonna test it soon but it looks nice

I'll host it on my server, but you wont be able to log any times or anything like that and the bots will be there. But you can at least fly around

Look for it on Oyster's Altitude (California)

I can add the checkpoints to the map.

Do you want gravity on or off?
Do you want weapons on or off?

Are there any other special settings you desire?

and if you dont mind, add/change these powerups



That should give incentive to reach different areas of the map, also will keep that mario kart feel i was going for

ball_race_shyguybeach is updated. I added the powerups as requested, and added two checkpoints to enable a 3 lap race. I added the following plus.txt file:

I set no weapons, and shrunk planes to 90%, it seems to play a little better that way. I also lowered the wall damage a little (not on trees). Ths spawnHealth is to protect against warping randas.

An alti+ server can load this map with "/upload alti+ ball_race_shyguybeach".
It can be downloaded directly at:

It is uploaded to "Map QA" right now. Try it out. If you are OK with it as is defined, I wll upload it to
Team+ and "ARC 1".
